In the area between the edge of the ear and the big vein that runs around the ear.

With Musette I find that closer tip of the ear easier to get to bleed as she has tiny little ears, with Maxwell I have better luck near that little double flap of skin low on the ear near the head. But he has big bat ears...lol Plus I'm pretty sure he spent sometime as a manly cat as his ears are tougher than Musette's they have seen some battles I'm pretty sure.

I shoot for the SS but due to his struggle sometimes hit the vein. Is there a difference in numbers I would have to correct for.... vein vrs edge poke?

I too sometimes hit the vein by accident but only difference I found is that it bleeds a lot more....I have to use the edge closer to the tip in the winter but can use low near the skin flaps in summer. Difference is the natural warmth of his ears.
