I'm having the hardest time finding anyone that sells these:

BD Ultrafine Insulin Syringe 31 Gauge 3/10cc 5/16"-1/2 Unit Markings

Hocks says they are on order or something. No one else seems to have them. I've tried all the links on the FD shopping links page.

Can someone tell me where I can order these online?

    thanks!

I get mine at Wal Mart... Ultrafine II are the ones with half-unit markings. I don't like them though. Big air bubbles and sticky plungers.

I get the Relion ones from Walmart, too. Usually they have to order them because they don't have them in stock, but it only takes a day or two for them to get there.

A few people have had the experience of an inexperienced pharmacy clerk telling them that no such syringes with half unit markings exist--if that happens insist on seeing a supervisor.

I buy Walgreen's brand. It's the exact same thing and they are usually great. Every once in a while I come across a bad box and bring it back but usually they work smoothly and have a great tip. If you don't have one near you, you can order online. You do need a script but I got a one time script from my vet that is good forever so never need to have another. They even ship for free.

ADW has 3/10cc 5/16 inch but the product listing does not say whether they have half unit markings or not: http://www.americandiabeteswholesal...e-insulin-syringes_1279.htm?source=SiteSearch Call and ask before you buy.

Monoject have a similar product 3/10 cc 31 guage 5/16 inch with half unit markings:

Hocks has these, but they won't deliver them without a prescription to NY and certain states and then they say you have to go to Health Warehouse, and they don't carry these particular syringes.

I've tried the Walgreens brand and I think they are not as sharp/fine as the BD brand.

Very frustrating, not sure why these are so hard to get a hold of. I tried another few online places who simply won't deliver to NY, even with a prescription.

I'm trying NOT to order from my drugstore because online is cheaper, but I guess I might ust have to do it.

I just made a run to Wally-world last night and bought a bag (10) or their Relion brand u100 needles w/ 1/2 unit markings ($2 - cheaper by the box but wanted to try them first). Will try them & see how well they work - definitely much better than relying on my aging eyes to find the mark. It's a shorter needle than I was using, and so far, I think that's a good thing.

If yours are u100s BE SURE to use the conversion chart for dosing!!!

I get mine at my local pharmacy. If you buy them by the box they are cheaper...just make sure the clerk scans the barcode on the bottom of the box instead of taking one of the little bags out of the box and scanning it 10 times.
