It was originially on another diabetic cat board (the German Diabetes-Katzen one?), or at least some form of online spreadsheet if not a Google one. The idea was brought over to the old FDMB board around May 2008. A lot of people liked the idea of an online spreadsheet that could be immediately viewed by anyone. Cyncyn (and maybe other people?) pretty much got the ball rolling and created the now familiar spreadsheet template and held "workshops" on the old Tech board to help people setup their own SS.

Thanks for telling me the story of the SS.

I'd like to tell the shelter vet and give credit where credit is due!

Went back through the old board. It seems that the Google SS has been around since early April 2008. There wasn't a big effort to get everyone using the SS until profiles started crashing because they got too big. I can't find the exact thread that started everything.

The earliest Lantus ISG post I could find about SS: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/r ... 22,1041599

    One from May 2008: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/r ... 22,1061690

JoJo's post urging people to back up their profiles and get a SS started: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/r ... 22,1095562

    One of Cyncyn's SS workshops: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/r ... ?9,1120289

Looks like D and Shadow helped with the SS, too.

Have to say, I don't know where I would be without my color coded spreadsheet! Makes it SO easy to see how she has been doing and keep everything logged and up to date.
