So, Sue and Oliver and I earlier today discussed Bubba and his un-shootable numbers from AMPS vs PMPS and a sliding scale. Tonight, with 1 unit he was at 165, 20 mins later 151. So I fed him and retested an hour later and he was 212. I gave 1/2 u. This was the first time 1u caused him to be too low. I am hoping this is a good thing. I just can't figure out the dance....

Yes, it is a good thing, just a little nerve wracking. We want him to gradually need less insulin. It means the insulin and food is starting to work. I think your dose was good.

When in doubt, I always go with less rather than more. My theory is that you can always add a little next time, but if the dose is high, you're awake all night, feeding him to raise the number.
