11/02/2011 Spitzer AMPS~451,+7-ish~215, PMPS~417

Previously

Vet called - fPLI normal; liver enzmes not significantly elevated, so liver enlargement most likely due to being diabetic.

Work on controlling the diabetes.

Which I've been TRYING to do.

And upping the ProZinc to 1 unit last night seems to have elevated this morning's glucose, so I compromised between the vet's recommended 1 unit and the 0.8 I was testing, with a .9-ish (somewhere between the two, as measured by a U-100 syring * 0.4 to get the U-40 dose being administered - so between a 2 and a 2.5).

Darn. Just posted on your other thread. Does seem like something in addition to diabetes. You might post the symptoms and test results on Health to see if anyone else has ideas?

Went home after picking up car from shop (basic oil change, soft tire which turned out to be rim gap).

Saw Elf out sunning on the sidewalk after eating (inferred from all the lip smacking and cleankng). Looking pretty good. Had seen the gray this morning having a bite (hasn't named itself yet).

Went in and snuggled Spitzer a bit before testing him; he's so, so boney. Got a 215 on Spitzer - haven't seen that color in a while. Put ointment in his eye for the small ulcer there (chronic feline herpes, or a scratch - don't know cause). Treated him for putting up with the poking and gooping.

Wetted the food in the kitchen and warmed it up. He proceeded to have a small nosh.

PMPS = 417

Maybe that means he had enough of an appetitie at +7 to build up some calories for use.
