Tiggy is pretty much back to normal today. About three hours after the sedation he perked up a bit and started walking more normally and looking more alert and interested in his surroundings. I checked on him through the night and this morning he is almost his normal meowy self. He is sitting on the sofa getting ready for a post brefis snooze right now. The wound looks ok so far.

Still kicking myself that I cut him. Julie (& pumpkin GA) suggested a groomers tool which I am going to look into - has to be safer than scissors.

(((Wendy))). Sorry that you and Tiggy had such an adventure yesterday :sad: I'm glad he is feeling better, and has perked up. I've been meaning to buy some sort of grooming thing...if you find something good, let me know I bought the blunt ended scissors from the pet store but haven't tried them yet...

Big relief. Too bad a minor nick like that ends up such an ordeal, but when they need stitches... they need stitches.

Sounds like he didn't have a bad reaction to the shots. But if you have anything to say about it, I would bet he never gets metacam or convenia again.

Covenia may also be called Cefovecin so watch for that as well.

I am sooo glad Tiggy is doing fine!
Good luck with the groomer kit.
I have problem with too much fur around the bum, too. (not on me, on Lucy!)
But the sound of clipper freaks her out, so I picked one that mention "quiet".
