Hey guys....so my Tigress is at the vet...she was straining to urinate and only getting a few drops of bloody urine out. This happened a few months ago and my vet suggested it might be food related since I changed all their foods when Gypsy was diagnosed. Do you have any insight on this? She gets friskies special diet...either beef and chicken or turkey and giblets...with water mixed in.

Any ideas on a good diet for a cat with urinary tract issues?

Of course the vet said hills cd or kd would be good. Said her kidney values were elevated (about 2.4) and the kd would help. Also said lots of cats on friskies have urinary tract issues...any suggestions? She's not diabetic (BG 169 at the vet) but I don't want to give her something that could move her to being diabetic. BUT I don't want to give her something that will cause her to keep having problems. Advice? Anyone out there have a cat with lots of urinary issues?

The Friskies Special Diet is low carb and low phosphorus (better for the kidneys). Also, adding water to the food, as much as they'll tolerate, really helps flush out the system. I'm sure you've already seen this from catinfo.org on urinary tract health, but it might be helpful for another read-through to give you some more ideas.
