10/2: Cedric in hospital; update he's gone to the bridge

Temp was 94 and BGs (on their Alpha Trak) were over 600. Please pray for him....he is in a bad spot.

Update after doctor's call at 1:30pm:
BP ok; still hydrating, but he's better; temp is normal; they are giving iv fluids and insulin; giving anti-nausea & vomiting meds

They will call me back between 5 and 6 today. when I left this morning they were giving him a 50/50 chance of coming home (but still took my $3000). I saw him before I left and he was wrapped up under the covers with a heat vent blowing under the covers to bring his temp up. it would be funny if it wasn't so serious. These two doctors (one is a resident and the other is the doctorate specialist in internal med).

Updated 3:25pm:
Dr. Bollinger just called to tell me that suddenly his BP & temp dropped and while they were trying to get him back up he passed over. I gave them the order not to recussitate. I am crushed. At least I won't have an empty house to go back home to, but Dallas is going to be so confused. :cry:

That's a low temp and a high glucose. Do they think he is in DKA?

He just had DKA. There must be an underlying infection that keeps him in high numbers and him not wanting to eat...

I am so, so sorry. I remember when you used to take him to work with you and post the pictures, I used to love to see those pictures of him at work with you. When I read your post I was praying no not Cedric, please let him be alright. So sorry.

Oh Jesse...My heart just sunk through the floor. I can't even type through the tears. You both fought so hard and never doubt for a moment that you were the best mom a kitty could ask for and Cedric knew without a doubt he was loved.

Fly Free Dearest Cedric you will be missed by so many. Go find Musette and Onyx they will show you how to send your momma rainbows

I'm so sorry for your loss of Cedric. No more roller coasters, I guess.

Please know that you did everything you could to care for him. You are the bestest "momma bean.":)

oh no... It is so hard to think through tears. Please know that I am crying with you and Dallas.

I pray for your peace and comfort as you remember that it is your love that cared for him and it is that same love that helped him to the Bridge where he will fly free , without pain or meds... and with happy memories of you.

I'm SO SO very sorry that it was Cedric's time to cross...BIG HUGE LOOOOOONG HUG but what a BEAUTIFUL life you all shared. Remember, he's not gone....you just have to hug him differently.

Play and run sweet baby...you're SO loved.

And I am so sorry that I am just seeing this now. My heart goes out to you and I am sure you are still hurting (it still hurts my heart that Jeddie is gone after more than a year), but I hope that time will bring the good memories and those will give you peace and comfort,
