Yesterday's extended GREENS!
After an unbelievable three cycles of hitting 40s and staying in blues and greens, we've broken the streak and had a high preshot again. Frankly I'm not complaining because if she was low again she would have had to come with me to work . . . and I don't think either of us would have had fun with that!
Last night she was steady around 110 from an hour before her shot to 3 hours afterwards, so silly me, I thought it was safe to actually do some stuff in the yard and test at +5. Hello 43! I fed her a good portion of 13%. +7 was rising so fed her a bit more to be safe and called it a night. Looking at it now, I wonder if the +7 was still just from the food and if she turned around and went lower again later? Hard to tell, and at that point I really needed to sleep!
My question now is about decreases. I've had three cycles in a row in the 40s, so strictly speaking I should decrease one more time. However, she does not have a history of holding decreases well. Should I just be holding the 2 until I see low numbers again, or do I need to at least shave the 2?
I am thinking ahead to this weekend as well, because Fri/Sat/Sun I am going to be out of the house for probably 11 hours each day with no way to get any daytime midcycle tests. I think it's important to make sure she eats in the beginning hours of the cycle, so I'm going to want to give her shot at least an hour and a half before I leave rather than shoot as I walk out the door. This means the PM shot will likely be a bit late. If she's really low at AMPS I am going to be forced to skip just to keep her safe. So no matter what happens between now and Friday I will NOT be increasing. But should I "NOT be increasing" from the current 2, or from a further reduced dose? I don't want to reduce too much now and be stuck at a too-low dose all week with her feeling miserable, but I don't want any more days hovering at 40 either! Suggestions?
