Previous Condo.

Ugh! I don't like seeing pinks! But, I've been using those danged short needles for a few days and giving him fur shots every other time. I'm also at the last few drops on his current Lantus pen so there might be a reduced potency issue going on. Not to mention the greens we saw last night that could have sent him into a bounce since he's been so off-kilter for the past month with my vacation and his random "seasonal decrease" as I'm calling it now (since we're back up to 2.5u again). So, I'm going to write off this morning's high as simply a depot-re-stabilization from all those missed shots and dose increases.

Maybe he's being a true gentleman & keeping Tigger company - they both went green last night & Tigger's been pink all day - after a brief skip to 401!

Re. the long hair & short needles - I have a similar problem with Tig, also being the Maine Coon type) would it help you to guide the needle into the skin with your index finger?

Hope he moves into a gentle surfe for you the rest of the day - & night!

I think the biggest problem with the short needles is that it doesn't deposit the Lantus far enough under the skin so it ends up leaking back out. I'm not sure if this is a "Kitten Quirk" or a "User Error" but I know the needle makes it in the skin and I know the insulin is in the skin to start with (no band-aid smell or wetness). He just spikes to pinks half the time I'm using the short needles and that's the only thing different from any other time.

But, I've got long needles again so we should be settling back in now. :thumbup
