7/27 Rusty PMPS 114, +4.5 155

Good Morning, Everkyone,

After zooming up at bedtime last night (after a nice, low-blue day), Rusty is coming down this morning. He had a good night sleeping between his beans with his head on his little green pillow. Test, shot, breakfast went well, and the lung treat was demanded before it is usually served (so he got it right after his breakfast, before we even had a chance to eat our breakfast!). Then we had a schmooze and I fell asleep and slept for an hour. At the moment Rusty and Edward are outside, basking in the sunshine. We just got back from the farmers' market. The array of produce there now is remarkable. We got our crate filled with veggies and also bought some raspberries and blueberries from another farmer (the blueberries are the tiny, wild variety--my favorites).

Now the news you all have been waiting for: I received my Saranac Lake 6er patch in the mail today!!!

Kewl Patch! What are you putting it on? I used to put patches from where ever we traveled on our bike on my panniers! So I could never replace the panniers, too much sewing to replace the patches! :lol: :lol:

Hi Ann,
I think I'll put it on the pack I used on all the climbs. Some people say not to sew patches on your pack because the needle holes can let in rain, but I'll put it on one of the outside pockets.

"Dirt cake"? I'm sure Willie will like that. Sounds intriguing. I'm going to look it up online.

You can put seam sealer over the stitches on the inside.

Just looked up the recipe for "Dirt Cake". It sounds repulsive! I think I'll make one for the next potluck! That will get everyone talking. I'll put the gummy worms into it, too!!

Rusty had a good afternoon and was hunting the chipmunk again, without success. He's napping now, before he heads out to Willie's OTJ party.

Hi again,
Rusty seems a bit under the weather later today and this evening: he's sleeping a lot and his appetite has been so-so (Rusty is a grazer, so when he eats can be any time; he finished all his nighttime food last night, as is typical). The weather has changed from cool and dry to warm and humid, so that may be a factor. In any event, the nighttime food has been set out and we'll see if it is all gone by morning.
