8/8 Onyx - AMPS 372, +3 301, +5 317

Good morning, LL!

Well, I'm kicking myself for crashing last night, as I missed those hours where I would have seen yellow. But, since I'm starting the transition to Young Again, I'm sure I'll start seeing some changes in a few days. Since Onyx is clearly leveled out to what the 2U dose will do for her on a medium carb diet, I'm going to hold it for a few more days until the YA starts to affect things. I only have samples until the bag comes on Saturday, so it won't be enough to change anything before then. But it's enough to start the process. She's LOVING this food like I've never seen before, so I'm feeling good about how it's going to affect her. I'll just strap on my "patience pants" for the next few days until things start to change.

Otherwise, she's still feeling pretty good--ketones remain normal--and her appy is great. Except for the fact that she turns her nose up at first to the Wellness, after having the yummy Young Again...lol. I tried to explain that I don't have enough to give her more YA right now, but she just looked at me like I tossed out her favorite mouse toy.

I wanted to send out a special thanks to the wonderful group of ladies who have persniKITTY cats like I do, and had to go the Young Again route. Dara, Melanie and Kat...thank you so much for the support and advice. I'm sure we'll be getting to know each other quite well over the upcoming weeks.

Gee thanks Brandi--that's very sweet of you to mention me. Gobbles does eat some YAZC, but most of his diet consists of wet food and a little meat. He has his persiniKITTY moments when he will not eat any flavor of wet or the meat (all day!), so I break out the YAZC which is exactly what his game plan was--he does this about once a week. I also use it to exercise him--tossing it into the next room and he chases it :lol: The civvies, well, they're at the mercy of Gobbles as to their diet :lol: . One thing that is good to know: it is best kept in the freezer because due to the moisture in it, it can go "bad" in a short time....unless, of course, you have a gang of kitties who eat it exclusively every day. In my case, I have about half of an 8 lb. bag that was ordered back in April, I believe....

Oh wow, that's good to know, Kat. I ordered a 20lb. bag! A 16lb. bag of their old food used to last 6-8 weeks, so I figured I'd get at least 2 months out of YA. Though, Klepto loves the wet food, but he'll still have to sneak Onyx's food when I'm not looking...or sleeping. So it "might" last longer. I usually transfer their food to a large plastic container with a lid, so now I'm not sure how that will do. Hmmmm. I might have to clean out my freezer...lol.

They should actually eat less of the YAZC, according to the website...probably because there aren't any "empty carbs" in it, thus keeping their little bellies fuller, longer....
