Yesterday's Condo

Finally got home to check my meter for this morning's number. About to stuff Nikki into her bag and head off for our (hopefully) last fructosamine! :mrgreen: I'll be interested to see what her BG is when she gets to the office. Nikki's funny, she complains about going in her bag but seems to love the car ride. She just quietly sits and looks out the window as we go along!

So many of us have vets who don't like to see a cat below 100. What would they ever say about Nikki?

what do you think happened? do you have any secrets you care to pass along?

how long did it take you not to freak out at those low non-insulin values? I just can't get over them!! So low...and so good!!

curious what the vet had to say!!! Did they know about your adjusting the dose?

Back from the vetty visit! We had a little dramatic ride home too! :shock: The vet was dead quiet, which was nice. I love summer! :lol: I was a bit shocked though, as I asked them to do a BG as well as the fructosamine so that I could compare to my home testing. Can you believe they charged me $30 for a BG test?!? :shock: :evil:
If I had known THAT upfront I wouldn't have asked!!! ARGH.

Unfortunately, there was some kind of accident on the road we take home, so they shut it down. Which I didn't find out until I got to the spot that was closed. So we had to turn around, go back to where they were detouring us, and try and make a left. That took a half hour. Then I finally get on this really steep hill, and an ambulance is trying to come by. Oy! The vet is a 15 minute drive and it took us an hour to get home. :shock:

Thank God for my patient cat, who just chilled in the carrier. And I get her home and her BG is 38. :mrgreen: So much for vet stress!! :lol:

@Mary - I'm pretty sure my vet thinks home testing is a joke. :lol: We'll see what the BG test they ran tells us! As long as these numbers are just Nikki, and not a sign that something ELSE is wrong, I'll be happy to prove him wrong! :mrgreen:

@Kelly - Isn't it nuts?! It's like we finally broke through with that dose and the low carb food. No secrets here! I think we're very lucky! You're doing a great job with Tom though and the way he earns reductions you'll be right behind us! :mrgreen:

@Deb - Yeah Day 8! Who woulda thunk it? I love our verse tonight!
