WCR: All Ps in place. Appy is iffy today. I think she's burned out on her FF Chicken and FF Chopped Grill...or she hates the zobaline. She's still a tiny bit withdrawn, but she has more desire to snuggle than she did last week. We just played for a few minutes, but she's loses interest fast. ? Don't understand that one.

Today is the last day of teacher pre-planning and last day of hellish meetings. :roll: I have a Florida Vocal Association meeting this evening, as well. Is it June, yet?! :lol:

Labor Day?!?! I can't remember a time when we started after Labor Day. Honestly, I don't mind...it gets us inside a/c buildings during the hottest month(s).

Soooooo, I was upset and shocked by Shasta's number tonight. I may not have it exactly correct, but it was in the mid 100's and she's NEVER been that low at PMPS. AND I had to leave almost immediately for another meeting. This one is a music meeting so we can hash out Festival dates and locations. My tummy is hungry and my back hurts. I wanna go home. Ok, enough *****ing! I'll be back later.

I hope Shasta surfs safely for you tonight. Her iffy appy could be because she's tired of the food. Furball does that sometimes with certain flavors. I hope your meeting goes well.

Oh goodness, I totally thought I would have time to get to condos tonight and it's already late and I haven't showered yet and I'm worried about Shasta. Not the way to start the new school year.

Thank you all for checking in Shasta today and tonight. I'm starting to think that the low Potassium is really catching up to her. After reading a bit more on Tanya's CKD page, I think she's fitting more of the symptoms of low K. I don't know why, but I was trying to hold off on starting the K supplements until she had finished the AB and until I had written the vet to ask about testing her K levels once a week or whatever to make sure we're not overdosing her with K. Well, she's lethargic, crappy appy, kind of weird breathing, possible hind leg weakness and possible hoarseness...so I gave her 1/2 tablet tonight. I just don't know what we're going to do about testing her levels periodically. I will try to find time tomorrow to email the vet. Anyone have a guess as to how fast the supplement might take to "kick in"?

we have a mobile vet who doesn't do a lot.... but she does offer to come draw blood, give vaccines.... etc.... small potatoes.


Maybe you have a mobile vet since you live in a bigger town than I do. At least Shasta would be in the comfort of her own home if she's going to need weekly monitoring.
You could take the blood to your regular vet.

My vet is willing to make home visits, but she's just as nasty to strangers here at home vs. the vetty office. I'm afraid the only way to draw blood from her is to sedate and I don't think that's good on a weekly basis! :shock: I wonder how hard it is to draw blood from a cat by oneself?! :shock: nailbite_smile @-) :lol: (how many more emoticons can I add?!) :lol: :lol: :lol:
