I guess we had just a wee bit of a bounce this morning, then she headed right back to the lagoon  .

Today is my only day off for at least week, so I have to catch up/get ahead (  ) on housework today. Yay!

Have a great day, LL!

Nicely done, Trix! I'd rather go to work than clean house.  Have you read The China Study, Amy?

I have actually been meaning to read "The China Study" for years, but have never gotten around to it. Are you asking because DH and I are vegan? Just curious...

I enjoy my job, but sometimes I just like being home with the kitties, even if that means housework!

The author advocates a whole, plant-based diet based in his research in China and other studies. He doesn't have anything good to say about animal protein from a nutritional perspective. The book is available on Kindle. Have you seen the movie Forks Over Knives?

I wholeheartedly agree with what the author has to say about animal proteins for humans, even though it goes against the grain of what we were all taught growing up.

I haven't seen "Forks Over Knives". The main reason we're vegan is because of the animal cruelty issues, and the health benefits where initially a happy side-effect. I am REALLY sensitive when it comes to witnessing or reading anything that goes into any amount of detail about farming, so I generally avoid those sorts of things - otherwise I would NEVER be able to sleep at night, or function in general. When I feed the kitties, I have to do prepare it quickly and without thinking too much about it.

Nowadays, though, the reasons for me being vegan are both the animals AND the health benefits. When I first became vegan and started reading the labels of things we were eating on a daily basis, it was a real eye-opener...it is scary to see what the FDA allows on the supermarket shelves. (With that said, I do acknowledge that it's just as easy to be an unhealthy vegan as it is to be an unhealthy omni, but I chose the healthy route.)

HI Amy

Yay, that you're home today, to see Miss Trixie, enjoying the lagoon. Hope she surfs there all day.

I don't recall that Forks Over Knives talks about farming but I would have to watch it again to be sure. It's also frightening what the USDA recommends that we eat. It really is about what's good for the meat and dairy industries at the expense of our health. I've gotten to the point that if the Feds recommend it, I don't believe it. Sorry, I'm hijacking Trix's condo! I'll stop now.

Oh you sound just like me  ! I'm always afraid those sorts of films are going to toss in even a quick shot of "meat processing", so I stay away, just as a precaution.

No problem...Trix doesn't mind sharing her condo! I need to stop, too, though...I'm supposed to be doing housework and I could go on for days about this subject!

Go Trixie Go!!!
She's looking lovely!
I hope you had a nice day off, Amy, even though you had to do some housework.
