Starting Honey tonight on Lantus.
Finally managed to get a solostar pen and the correct prescription from the vet.

She's currently 13.8lbs and her numbers are around 325.

Last time I started her on 1u bid - should I go for that again?

Hi Denise-
Bummer on Honey needing to come back from the Falls. That dry food is just nasty! and poor Honey is letting you know her system was not happy with it. I know how you came to that decision since you were traveling. We are incredibly fortunate that our neighbor is willing to come feed the boy raw food twice daily!!! Yep, very blessed to have her.

I so hope Honey's stay on insulin is short-lived. I know you want to treat it more aggressively this second time around but I can't offer any dosing advice.

Sorry you are back but its good to see a Honey condo.

Have a great day!
Karen and Furball.

Denise --

Was Honey checked over by your vet? (I probably asked you this already.) It just looks like she went from green to pink over night. I can't help but think there's something going on.

I'd probably start Honey at 0.5u but let's see what others may have to say.

Thanks for the commiserations...hoping its short too!

Yes, she was checked over - her Reticulocyte Count was above normal at 58 (3-50 k/ul is normal range), Cholesterol was also just over normal at 257 as was her a/g ratio at 1.0.
BG was high, of course.
Teeth were fine.
She's gained 2lb since January - now at 13.61.

I'm wondering if its the weight gain.
I think she should around 12lb.
