Yesterday's Condo
Short condo this morning..Problems with mom again....she can't remember how to take her pills (and she's been using the same pill box for years...says "Thur, Morn, Noon, Eve, Bed"....and she still can't figure out how to get her Thurs morning pills
also can't remember how to use her cell phone she's had for 2 years or turn on her TV
gotta go see if I can get my useless son and/or his wife to go down and help her since I've have my pain pump refill appointment today ...If I have to, I'll change it, but that's been on the same schedule for years too
Hope everyone in LL has a better day!!!
ETA...when my son/wife had agreed to go down, I headed for my appointment...got about 1/3 of the way and called to see that they'd made it and check on mom...when they got there, there was an ambulance in the driveway (we didn't learn how they got there until many hours later)
Mom couldn't remember her last name, when she was born, how old she was, what month it was, etc....so they took her to the ER. I turned around and met them there. Although it was obvious I was a familiar face, when they asked her who I was, the only word she could come up with was "girl". After lots of tests, nothing is showing up as being wrong...no sign of stroke, blood clot or infection that could cause such a big drop in her thought processes in 24 hours. The hospital was also packed full (as was the ER) and after being there 7 hours, she still didn't have a room, and I had to run home to give China her shot. I HATED to leave, since when I'd just stepped away for a few minutes during the day to talk to the nurses/doctor, she got upset about being alone, but I got the nurses promise that she'd check in on her more frequently...as well as got them to hook up a call light for her in the ER. Just talked to the hospital and they finally have a room for her, but she's still in the ER...but will be moving her "soon" (yeah right)
My brother works and lives over in the area of the hospital, and had just gotten off work, so he's on his way over there to sit with her. It's going to be a long night.
