Yesterday, fur shot in AM

Well I think we're playing catch-up a bit from yesterday's fur shot, but Papaya seems to be feeling good. Thanks to everyone who stopped by yesterday and sorry I didn't get a chance to visit any condos - I picked up three 20-lb cases of peaches to can and they decided to ripen a little more quickly than I'd expected, and when I went to get more canning lids the store had big cases of Roma tomatoes at a good price so I got those too. So I didn't venture far out of the kitchen yesterday!I'm going to enjoy eating it all in winter but right now I am dreading the one case each of peaches and tomatoes that I still have to deal with tonight!

With the recent hot weather, I put a braided rug in the center of the hallway where there's a crossbreeze from the adjacent rooms, since while being up on the furniture is too hot for her right now, Papaya always prefers to be on a rug or something instead of just the bare floor. She likes it on the rug and has decided it is The Place Where Stuff Happens - now even if she's elsewhere in the living room, if she hears me in the kitchen getting her food she goes over, stations herself in the middle of the braided rug and waits. It seems to have spilled over to her AM routine in my room, too, since instead of waiting in bed she slithers down to a similar rug by my bed and waits for testing there. Don't ask me what her reasoning is - maybe centering herself on something that is in the middle of the room emphasizes that she is The Center of The Universe?

Have a super day!

And maybe Papaya is thinking, "Whenever I'm on the rug, stuff keep happening! Don't ask me why!!"
She's so adorable, politely sitting and waiting in the center of the rug.

Peaches, Ohhhhh.
I don't know how but I missed all the summer fruits, cherries and berries.
They just come and go so fast.
Maybe I can still make peaches?

Hi Mariko - the peaches I'm canning are from BC so you should still have them available out there! They're delicious!
