I'm low on AlphaTrak strips so I've taken Zeke's +3 reading with the ReliOn. His nadir is usually +6. Is this number one that warrants my monitoring him over the next couple of hours?

His PMPS was taken with AlphaTrak and was 308

Just gave him LC with canned salmon. Should I feed MC?
    How often should I test?

That's a big drop but about 50 points an hour isn't that unusual. I'd get another test in an hour to see if the trend is continuing.

What's is the equivalent on AlphaTrak to this 123 on ReliOn? About 160?

When there's a big drop like that, yes, you'd want to test every 30 for awhile. Remember, if you feed when you're trying to get the number up some, don't feed TOO much. If he continues to drop, you're going to want him to be hungry so you can get some HC food into him.

If he drops below 50 on the Relion (80 on the Alpha) you'd want to give a couple teaspoons of HC gravy, or some LC food with a couple of drops of syrup, karo or honey. Then you'd retest every 30 minutes and keep giving a little HC food until he's up into the 70's and hasn't had any food in a couple hours so you know the number is coming up..and staying up. The gravy/syrup works but it also wears off.
