Starting this condo very late today - its actually after midnight for me so its technically 9/22.

I am not sure what happened but....

This is what Dane told me:
"Jupiter was asleep and I noticed he was twitching all over his body (he wasnt shaking but having random twitches in different areas). He did not respond when I called him. I picked up his head a little bit and it was completely limp. Picked up his head again and his head fell right back down."

So Dane woke me up.... I was so scared because Dane doesnt normally worry about things and he acted very serious and concerned.... and I tried waking Jupiter up, and he woke up right away. He meowed and acted VERY hungry.

I dont know if he was just in a deep sleep... I was asleep so I am not sure what happened. Dane says he doesnt think he was just sleeping... he thinks something was wrong (possibly a seizure?)

I gave him a dose of Bupe earlier before I went to sleep. He was acting uncomfortable so I thought he might be in pain.

He is acting fine now... He ate some and went back to sleep but he does respond when I wake him up.

Dane says Jupiter seems fine now but he still thinks that something happened. He doesnt think it was just Jupe sleeping or something like that.

I am not sure if this is something I should be concerned about???.....I just thought this was worth mentioning. I, myself, think Jupiter just might be really tired but I am not sure since I did not see what happened. When I woke up I was so scared and it felt like my heart dropped...

I wonder if Jupiter was having a dream.
J.D. has scared me big time too, like that. Like he was sleeping very deeply.

Sometimes my cats are in such a deep sleep they don't wake up right away and it scares me too. I've seem then twitch all over like that when they are dreaming. I'm hoping Jupiter was just sleeping deeply and dreaming. If you're concerned, you could talk to your vet and see what he says. Sending prayers and hugs to you. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: I hope you were able to get some sleep after that.

sounds like a deep sleep to me too. my guys have done the massive body twitches and a few have slept so deep that I have to really look to see if they are breathing. even poking them, they do not wake. heart in throat feeling for sure

It looks like Jupe was in a deep sleep. He probably needed that sleep. I'm sure he's OK, but you might mention it to your vet the next time you see her, just to make sure.

Have a good day of healing today, Jupiter! Get some good rest today, Jamie & Dean!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

My Buster has seizures and there is a lot of shaking, drooling, even peeing happening. Eyes can be open and staring, cannot focus and doesn't hear me.

As she comes out of it, she will try to walk around, with an unfocused look. She will also cry out and meow loudly. She is always starving afterwards. then needs to rest, sleep for several hours. When she gets up again, it's as if nothing happened.

It is more than just twitching, the entire body shakes. Here is a video of what a seizure looks like. If Jupiter wasn't doing this kind of shaking or behavior, then it probably wasn't a seizure.

By all means mention this to the Vet if you have any questions about Jupiter's behavior.

Without being there and without knowing how Jupiter sleeps, I agree with everyone about the deep sleepy twitches. I've seen this with our furrs as well.

Sending much love -

Hi Jamie,
It would scare me a lot too.
Lucy twitches often in sleep, and when deep in sleep she doesn't hear me calling her.
But how Jupiter's head was limp when Dane picked it up worries me a bit, because it has never happened to me ever before.
Both my cats would come out of sleep almost instantaneously if I touch them, specially head/face.
It's possible that Jupiter was in a much deeper sleep than usual because of bupe, and likely (and I hope) there is nothing serious to worry about.
But if Dane's gut says that it may have been more than a deep sleep, why don't you make a quick call to the vet?
Just for your own peace of mind too, Jamie.

It sounds like your current vet is much nicer and more attentive than the previous one, so they won't mind your asking a quick question over the phone.
In fact, I think a caring vet would LIKE to know if something is up with their patients.
When they open tomorrow, just call and ask and I'm sure you'd feel much better about it. :YMHUG:

Well Jupiters appt to get his staples removed is tomorrow at 4:30pm so I will mention it then. Jupiter seemed to be acting a little off yesterday evening and last night...

I am also sending good vetty visit vines for tomorrow and that everything goes perfect and his healing is right on course.

Hope Jupiter is ok getting those staples out at the vetty visit tomorrow. Sending calming vines and good vetty vines to him.
