Hi Everyone,
Late start tonight. We were out all day on the best paddle of the season.

I guess Rusty's numbers today are a continuation of the bounce that started yesterday. A mysterious bounce. I don't think he's sick. Tomorrow I'll take his dose back up if there is no improvement tonight. I wonder if the new cart. of insulin isn't potent?

I'm sure that Rusty spent most of the day sleeping and moping about because his beans went out and left him! We wrecked his routine! Maybe the high numbers reflect that.

Our paddle, on Lake Lila, one of the gems of the Adirondacks and my favorite lake, was wonderful. The lake was calm, the sun was shining, the color was muted, but still good. We took our time and explored the lake, having lunch at the site of the Adirondack Great Camp Nahasane (Built by William Webb, the railroad magnate, for his bride, the former Lila Vanderbilt). The buildings were torn down when the state of NY acquired the land for it's "forever wild" forest preserve. We lunched in the resulting meadow with a fabulous view down the lake. The rich at the end of the 19th-beginning of the 20th century knew how to live! A highlight of the paddle was seeing fresh moose tracks on one of the beaches. Wow!

Tired now, enclosing several photos. Gonna veg out for a while. bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Gorgeous Ella. Sounds like you had a great day. I have threatened one day i am going to have to pop in on you up there. I would love to see all this beauty up close.
Know Rusty is glad you are home. I posted in your yesterday condo earlier today. Wouldn't you know the day I come for an overdue visit you are out in the wilds and not hanging in LL. So thought I'd pop in here too in case you missed it...just saying 'Hi'.

Enjoy the vegging.

betty

PS: love the pics!

Hi Betty,
I did see your post from yesterday. Thanks for visiting us. I'm glad that Hank is doing better. He'll be totally fine in no time. You can post in the Lantus forum whenever you want. Just post a "Loose Lips" (LL) condo. Of course, if you really want every-day participation, you can always adopt a feline diabetic from the DCIN site!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty (who has chronic congestion; he doesn't actually hack up gunk, he swallows it! The "lung treat" is Allerplex, a holistic allergy formula that has helped him a lot).

Enchanting autumn photos!
They make me want to head to Lac Memphremagog, as it's perfect right now.

Re: 10/9 Rusty AMPS 234, PMPS 295

..Interesting..he just hacks and swallows. Probably would feel better if he hacked it out. Maybe there is a trick he can learn.
My civvie has had residual upper respiratory issues ever since he came home with it from the shelter as a baby. Maybe he would benefit from Allerplex.
Do you give the whole capsule or sprinkle it out?
No more kitties for us at the moment...we are at max. I can barely get all the needs met as it is...But never say never.

I need to come check on ya'll more often and get to know Rusty better. You know how I felt about Stu.

hugs back to you

What amazing pics!! And a lovely day to be out!!
The lake looks like glass.
And I've never seen a moose footprint before ~ very cool!

I hope Rusty's numbers come back down soon (safely, of course!).

Well these numbers are so in-Rusty like, paws crossed it is short lived.

Love the moose print!

hey Rusty, i's caught the mouse! -Tillie

Beautiful pictures!
I'm glad you had a fabulous day today, Ella!

I hope Rusty comes back down to his usually green soon.
