Whew!! What a long day it's been!! Had to go to the pain clinic for my pump refill and invited mom to "go along for the ride" to get her out of the Assisted Living center, and so of course, everything went wrong. Got up there without problems, (except for a warning light in the car which went out as soon as we got close to the Toyota dealership) but then trying to go to get some lunch, a bus had been hit in the middle of a main intersection so everyone was being re-routed all over the place to get back where (if we weren't re-routed) would have been 100 feet up the road. Columbia's claim to fame is the University, and that's where were were routed through..at lunchtime..with kids all over the place (By the way, when did they start letting little kids go to college? Some of those kids looked like they were 12...or maybe I'm just getting old????)

Finally got to a Steak & Shake (mom loves their french fries and since she's not been eating very well, was hoping she'd eat better) and got some lunch, and after that finally headed back home...was gone from 8:30 to 3:30 and was really worried about China ..she doesn't usually drop at +2 so of course I worried about how low she was going the entire time..Couldn't really "Rush" mom because she was enjoying getting out so much.

Of course China did just fine, and my "In the door" test was 85 so she could very well have gone lower, but there's no way to know..unless maybe she bounces tonight...that's a pretty good sign!

Hope everyone has had a great Fursday and that all your kitties are safely surfing in the pretty blue and green lagoons!!

Its always the days that your in a hurry that stuff like that happens

Glad China is doing well though!

(and I know what you mean about 12 year olds attending college. they get younger every year ;-) )

It never fails, when you need to hurry things happen. I know what you mean about being worried about China. I'm glad she was okay and hope your mom enjoyed the time out.

Well, that answers THAT question! She had to have gone pretty low while I was gone to have bounced to 282 since +9's reading of 85

I guess it's true, that God looks out for fools and children (and diabetic kitties who's mommabean had to be gone all day with her momma)

Oh I know how you feel when you have to be away for so long. And when you finally get home and see that they are ok...WHEW!!!!!!!
I love that your Mom likes S&S. I used to bring that to my Dad when he was in the hospital. Those were his favorite hamburgers :-D Thanks for that memory :-D
Sorry about all the re-routing but how nice you got your Mom out and about, and got to spend some time with her.
Enjoy your night Chris!

 very cute!!

Glad you are home and settled finally!....I hate being gone from home because the pressure and worry just builds and builds and builds.....just so much less stressful to just stay inside all safe and sound......ha. but, of course, we can't live life like that .....can we?

So happy to read that your mom's cat is finally at your house, you are such a great daughter .......I hope she is will be able to get back home with your mom very very soon.

Was your mom happy to see her? How did your mom feel about leaving her house....again? so sad.....but like I said...only for a little while!!!

Good luck with China tonight.......you never know with that one!!!

Looks like you had a full day. Hopefully a quieter night.

It is difficult to juggle the needs of human family and cat family sometimes.

I am sure that your mom enjoyed spending the day with you. I think your right. There are times when

we have to put our cat's in God's care when we can't be there.
