Well, I guess it is my "Technique" angry(2)_cat Everything was good with the new meter until his PM +4 lastnight, and I got nothing but errors after that, even on me!! (my BG is fine by the way :lol: ) Even with the second new meter :-x :-x WTH could I be doing that makes it give me so many errors??? So I went to bed lastnight PRAYING that it wouldn't give me an error at shot time nailbite_smile I must have done something right this morning :roll: and it has worked so far today. I can't even begin to tell you how over this I am. Oh, yeah, Hoot is doing good this morning. All 5 P's and appy are great. He's not so grumpy either :-D Sorry, I got off on a rant and forgot this is Hoots condo, not mine :lol: :lol: I am going to go get some strips for the Relion Micro at Walmart today (never had an error on that one) but the strips are twice as much :roll: and then call ADW and see if they have a meter with cheap strips. I just can't do this anymore and I can't figure out what it is I'm doing or not doing :-x Thanks for all the visits yesterday :-D

So which meter is giving you troubles.

I get those occasionally when I get in a hurry and don't let mine "sip" the drop.

But if it's doing it on your own finger, then maybe battery needs replacing.... or the meter is just broken.

Hi Rhiannon,
It's the Relion Prime. I have just sent one back and they sent me a new one. I also got a new one from Walmart. They both are brand new and they both gave me errors :-x
I just can't for the life of me figure it out. After I draw up the blood I lay it down on the table and then hold the cotton ball on Hoots ear and wait for the results. I have always done it this way. As of this morning I am holding the meter in my hand until I get the reading...we'll see :roll: :roll: :roll:

The Arkray meters use the same strips as the Relion meters. You may need to ask which Arkray strips are for which Relion meters, though. The strips are pretty affordable.

I get error only when the blood bead is too small.
Maybe the new meter/strip needs more blood than the previous one?

I'm sorry you keep getting errors. I tried the Relion Prime because of the price of the test strips and I hated it. I kept getting errors too and it needs more blood then the Relion Confirm. I heard other people had problems with the Prime too. I don't think they are made very well. I called the number on the box and asked if I could exchange the Prime for a Confirm and they sent me a Confirm. I use that as my backup meter. I was out on the cost of the test strips because I couldn't return them. Maybe they will let you exchange the Prime for another Micro.

Ok, so here's what I did. I called Relion and they are going to send me 3 packages of Relion Micro strips, and I will send them their crappy Primes back! YAY!!!!
I also ordered an Arkray Vital (thanks Amy) and that should be coming soon. I didn't buy any Micro strips today as I just didn't want to spend the $$ and keeping my fingers, toes and all paws crossed we can use the Prime until the Micro strips or the Arkray Vital gets here. No error vines are desperately needed :lol:
Thanks everyone for all the great advice today! I was about to loose my mind ;-) And there isn't much left to lose :roll: :lol: But I have researched this issue a bit and found that this is an age old problem here on the board. It was funny reading some of the old condos :lol:
Hoot is doing great tonight and I tried a new food on him at shot time, Nutro, Natural Choice, chunky loaf. He seemed to like it and it didn't seem to raise his BG by +1 or +2 :-D (Thanks Jess/Mr Cat) His sister "Hissin Heidi" is here for the weekend so he may be a little stressed out having to hiss all weekend :roll: :lol: Silly cats :roll:

Speaking of annoyance, I guess there will be the magic of cat spit in the air this weekend.
Don't you just wish we could do this to people we don't like? HIsssSSSSSSS.
