Good Morning all,
Again, I found Jessica pee on the couch last night. Consider put her back to basement for a while to see if she still pee or poo outside the litter box.
Hope it can correct her behavior.
Will consider up the dose to 6U Friday night.

Thanks, Julie.
I going to get the latest blood and urine test result from my Vet Saturday so that I can give you more updated info concerning Jessica.
The reference range is 2.4 - 8.2. If you look at the next test date June 8, it stated 2.4 -8.2 and the result was 4.7 in June and 5.1 in Aug.

ah, thanks for clarifying that. i thought it was a 5.2 and jessica was at 5.1 - so my comment about the phosphorus doesn't apply after all. still, it doesn't hurt to reduce the phosphorus because it can be hard on the kidneys.

have you read the info on the CatInfo.org site about cystitis? Sienne had the thought that maybe what's going on in her bladder is a sterile cystitis. that would mean that an antibiotic wouldn't help because it's not an infection. given that you haven't seen any improvement with the use of the antibiotics, that might point away from her problem being an infection. here is some info on that: http://www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth#Cystitis

does jessica use a litter box at all? If you're having a urinalysis done, make sure it's done by cystocentesis, where a needle is inserted directly into the bladder to get a sample. according to this site, the urine specific gravity can show if the urine is concentrated, and perhaps that might point to her having cystitis. if so, she needs pain meds.

you might look around on that site. it's run by a vet who sometimes posts on FDMB and she is very respected here.

The litter Julie is talking about is called Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter. It's expensive but works great.

It seems like Jessica has a lot of urinary tract issues....she had a kidney infection and at least one UTI. I can't remember how the kidney infection was diagnosed and I don't think you mentioned how the UTI was dx. As Julie asked, did they do a cystocentesis?

Gracie suffered from sterile interstitial cystitis for quite some time. She would run to the LB repeatedly over a short time and strain to pee with very little urine production but often blood. She never went outside her box but this condition is painful and stressful and so many cats will go outside the box.

Can you tell us her history of kidney infections and UTIs please and how they were dx?

Thanks all.
I haven's read the the info on the Catinfo.org site about cystitis yet.
The UTI was diagnosed when I collected her pee using a plastic container and it was not done by cystocentesis. So I think the smaple may be contaminated.
I will prepare the information concerning Jessica medical history and I will post it on the site or thru PM.
This Saturday, I will bring Jessica to see an Internal Medicine specialist and has utrasound one more time to see what is going on with her bulging abdomen. It has been for a while and I don't know whether she is gaining weight or something going on inside her abdomen.
Will let all of you know.

Thanks
