I have a flatish yellow cat today, for a change. Yesterday she started off high, then came down to blues and yellows for the rest of the day. So this is two cycles without any black!
Yesterday Papaya was really up to her old tricks. Usually we both sit on the couch in the living room, but in the afternoon I sat in a little swivel armchair next to the couch instead as it had better light for knitting. I put Papaya's blanket at the end of the couch nearest me, but she didn't seem very relaxed and was trying to figure out why I was in a different spot. A little later I went out to the kitchen to make tea, and when I came back Papaya was calmly sitting IN THE ARMCHAIR. I'd really have liked to see how she got there - she must have climbed over the gap between the couch and chair arms, or else used the coffee table, but either way there was some precarious walking across gaps which I'm surprised she managed. She just looked SO settled, like she had been there for hours. And she has never, ever sat in that chair before!
Why I say it's "old tricks" - I used to have a roommate who was scared (quite rightly) to touch Papaya. We had two chairs at a small table in the kitchen. When roommate got up to get something, Papaya jumped up and took her chair, just eyes and ears visible over the edge of the table. I was laughing too hard to help so roommate went and got another chair for herself and sat at an awkward spot to give Papaya - still sitting there - lots of space. Also when I'm visiting my parents, wherever my Mom sits, Papaya will sit and stare at her until Mom gets up and Papaya takes the chair. I guess it's some kind of pecking order thing. Well, I moved her out of the armchair yesterday so she isn't quite boss of me yet
Have a relaxing day!
