Yesterday's appointment with the holistic vet went well.
I really felt good after the appointment.
First, she wanted to know EVERYTHING about Lucy, not only the medical history, but everything.
How she was when she was a kitten/younger, how she interact with people other than me, how she responds to pain, what she likes, what she doesn't like, what she does when she feels affectionate, plus medical history and the meds she's on.
She was interested in even a small thing like how Lucy likes to sit in a sunny spot, but doesn't care about the heat from the radiator, so we talked A LOT.
Then she did a physical exam, felt and checked Lucy from head to toes.
She really wanted to give her this homeopathic remedy that she thought would benefit her.
She really felt good about this remedy for Lucy.
So I asked her about it in a few different ways, what is it? What is it made of? If you are to list the ingredients, what are they? What is it for?
She said this remedy, Nat-m, is basically salt = sodium chloride. To make it into homeopathic remedy (granule), they use a small amount of sugar, but she said the amount is so tiny it won't affect her BG.
So I OK'd this remedy, and Lucy got the first dose yesterday during the appointment.
Lucy just stayed next to me on the sofa while the doctor and I talked.
She complained and wiggled and got away after the physical exam, but the vet wanted to see how Lucy walks and moves, so we let Lucy walk around the apartment for a bit while we followed her.
The funny thing was, Lucy kept coming back to where we were.
When the vet and I sat in the living room again to talk, Lucy came back and sat between us, purring!!!!
Very unusual behavior towards a stranger for Lucy, so I guess she liked this doctor.
As for acupuncture, the vet said we could do it also yesterday, but she preferred that we give a few days after the remedy, so Lucy does't get too much healing at the same time while her body is somewhat fragile.
I agreed because if we get both on the same day, I wouldn't be able to tell what's doing what. I made another appointment for next Monday for acupuncture.
She said she's not treating any specific condition or disease, but she's treating her as whole.
So if it works, I should see her overall energy/vitality improve. I am to e-mail her a short report on how Lucy's doing everyday until the next appointment.
Sorry it has become a long report, but this is how it went and I feel good!
Lucy is feeling very good this morning.
She even woke me up purring right next to my face 3 minutes before the alarm.
I don't know if the remedy has anything to do with it, but it's a good sign!
She's eating her breakfast well, still finger-feeding of course, but she's even eating the Wellness Turkey NON-favorite moussey kind.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year's Eve, and am sending vines to all in need!
