Hi wonderful people from LL!
It's been 5 months since our last post here. At the time Angie was having some health issues (drinking, peeing, wheezing, vomiting and straining on the litter tray). She had just received an early ckd diagnosis and was on an otj trial. I got quite sick and moved house (again) and vanished off the board so she didn't get to have her second party but she has been green ever since without insulin.
I'm now living in the country with my parents and it's really lovely here. Angie isn't quite sure what to do with all this space but Jetzin (civvie) is having a ball. We've been here since August and she will still only sit on our front door step unless somebody goes out with here. She's only ever lived in the city and used to having fences that define boundaries. Here she could walk further than she ever has before and not come to a fence!
Our new vets here are very up-to-date. They knew about the Queensland University Protocol already. They worked out that Angie has a food allergy causing her to wheeze and causing blocked anal glands. She wasn't constipated but she was straining because of the impacted glands and the straining was making her throw up. After some wonderful help from Dr Lisa Pierson, our new vets and our local hospital we worked out that she's allergic to chicken and we suspect dairy as well. She's now on an Angie-specific diet formulated by Dr Pierson to manage her ckd and diabetes and is kangaroo based. Her allergy symptoms are pretty much under control but she keeps getting into naughty things like dropped bits of cheese or Jetzin's left over chicken bones and gets a bit wheezy again.
It's too late at night for me to write on all your condos but I'll get through them tomorrow. I'm happy so see so many old friends here - although I'd rather you visit us at the falls! Chyna went OTJ at the same time as Angie's first time round - I'm sorry to see her back again with some high numbers. See you tomorrow.
Grace
