Yesterday's trying to figure out how to switch from ReliOn syringes to Terumo syringes Condo

Last Night:
426 PMPS
452 +2
245 +6
HI +10.75

Thank you all for the healing vines and eating vines, and suggestions on how to try to switch syringe brands. The new syringes will probably be here by tomorrow or Friday.

Sending lots more healing vines and eating wishes for J.D., here's hoping he feels lots better and that his #s have come down by morning and his appy has come up.

Also sending peaceful sleeping vines to you Dyana, even tho I know that you will be up off and on all night long checking on J.D. So here's to sleeping well, in little batches, all night long, and that every time you do get up, J.D. is better and better and then even better, and that by morning he will be so hungry you will be late for work b/c you had to make him a very special breakfast!

Thanks for the laugh Desi  you had tears in my eyes from laughing. You're so sweet ;-)
What actually happened was; I syringed 1/8 can of MaxCal or there abouts. J.D. wasn't as interested in treats, but he had some, and I broiled the steak and he had a little of that.
I only woke up once, when J.D. woke me up from laying on the couch. J.D. had gone to bed, and at midnight, he woke me up, acting all happy (or maybe that was all hungry and it just looked like all happy) by climbing on top of my chest and messing with my face, and his fur felt soft. I tested him and gave him a spoonful of FF Beef & Chicken with some treats pushed into it. He ate the treats and left the FF. I took the bowl with us to bed. I added a couple more treats and went back to sleep. In the morning the bowl was empty, but I don't know if J.D. ate it or not.
We got up at +10.5 this morning and J.D. again acted all happy (hungry?), so I gave him some Pepcid, because I didn't want him to throw up and ruin his mood while waiting another 90 minutes to be fed.
At +11.75 I fed him and he ate a whole 1/2 can of FF Chunky Turkey and I gave him his Cerenia and Flagyl.
Now it's late, and I got to get off this computer. I will give him his Bupe in a few minutes.

Have a good day. I hope J.D. continues to eat and feel better. Sending healing vines to all who need them.

Hi Dyana,
I am so glad J.D. is feeling better and eating better!
What a relief!
Sending more good appy and healing vines to J.D.
I hope he continues improving.

Re: 01/15 J.D. AMPS HI

Great to hear that JD is feeling better. Still sending more vines until he is back to his old self. Have a great day Dyana!

Re: 01/15 J.D. AMPS HI

I'm happy to read that J.D. is eating better, and feeling happy (and/or hungry! :-D ). Sending continued vines for eating and feeling good. Have a good day, Dyana!

J.D. shared 1/2 can of FF Trout Feast with Ginger at PMPS and got his Flagyl. I just gave him Bupe at +1, and now a half hour later he is eating his 2nd Dinner. And, he didn't finish it.

I will syringe some more MaxCal a little later tonight.

I figure the Pancreatitis flare started on Saturday as that's when he started stinky poo and not having an appetite.
He seemed a lot better on Sunday when he was at work, but Sunday night after he ate his dinner, he was "off" again.
I started Bupe Sunday night, and was able to give it to him every 8 hours on Monday, and every 12 hours since then.

Question #1:
He started Cerenia on Monday night, had a dose on Tuesday morning and another on Wednesday morning. Is it true he can only have Cerenia for 4 days (so last dose is tomorrow?), and then how many days do I take off after that?
Question #2:
He started Flagyl last night, and he got some this morning and this evening. Does anyone know how long to keep giving the Flagyl?

I'll try to email his vet, but I have never really emailed her before (and have only emailed his other vet that works in the same practice once) and am not sure they appreciate getting or answering emails.

I have added about the width of 5 hairs onto his dose the past 3 cycles and have not reset the calipers. I just tried to add a little tiny bit on because I noticed the plunger doesn't seem to go up as far into the syringe as I thought they used to. :?

The Terumos are due to arrive at my work on Friday, but I get home from work at PMPS, so really can't take the time to figure out the dosing on them until Saturday morning, I don't think, unless someone has another idea about how to do the switch over.

J.D. is acting good. Ate some cat treats when I got home, and is on his cat tree now. I think I might even try to get him outside for a walk tonight.

Dyana,
I hope you get your questions answered soon.

I just wanted to say thank you for your kind post in Lucy's condo today.
I know you haven't been feeling well, and have your hands full helping J.D.
I do think about J.D. every day too, especially at the feeding time.

Sending more feel better & good appy vines to J.D.

I knew it! I just knew it! It may not have been for breakfast or made you late to tbp, but I just knew that handsome J.D. was going to get something really special cooked up! I just knew it!

I am so very glad he decided to wake you up & entertain you overnight, such a good sign that he was feeling better! I am so glad that he is. Now that he's feeling better, let's see those #s straighten up.

D

Dyana, the directions I have on the Cerenia I got say to give 1/4 tab every 24 hours for 2-3 days and do not give for more than 5 days in a row. I hope this helps.
