Yesterday's Condo

I was so drained last night after all the drama we went through, and Cinco threw me a curve at PM+6! Where did that come from?? I was really curious to see what this am would bring, but it seems to be business as usual.

Apparently, I wasn't totally recovered when I posted this condo, since I left Cinco's name off the subject line. Doh! ohmygod_smile

I don't know if it's the blindness or whatever's going on with his plumbing, but he keeps hanging his butt over the edge of the lb and peeing down the outside! :o Makes it easy to test keytones (still neg), but I'm getting tired of cleaning up pee! Yesterday I had to scrub the carrier, and today it looks like the lb will need it, along with the mat under it and the carpet under that! :YMSIGH: I hope this gets better quickly! BTW, it's not a small box - the jumbo liners barely fit it.

The azithromycin came today. It's in liquid form, salmon flavored. I called and spoke to the pharmacist, because I was concerned about the suspension. He said there is the tiniest amount of glycerin in it, and with the dose that Cinco is getting, it should not affect his blood sugar. We'll see. I just hope it fixes, not only the bartonella infection, but whatever is going on with the plumbing. I should hear from the vet soon about the urinalysis. Good news is, if it is an infection, this should wipe it out. He gets one dose of the AB a day for 30 days, and I just gave him his first dose. Paws crossed!

I'm not excited about taking him in for a curve tomorrow, but the vet was pretty insistent. The vet I saw yesterday was not really impressed by the fact that I just did one a couple of days ago (this is a hospital with a team of five vets, and the one that was available last night is someone we have only seen once before). It's like she doesn't trust me, after two and a half years of managing his FD, not to mention the fact that I got him into remission without their help! I'm going to do it just to keep them on my side in all this. Honestly, I could use a day off from Cinco patrol, anyway, so I guess I'm being a little selfish here. It'll give me a chance to thoroughly clean his domain and surrounding areas. I may get out the big steam cleaner and go over the spot in front of his LB, after spot cleaning today. Sounds relaxing, no?

Well, I need to go work out - got to build up my muscles in preparation for schlepping all three of my civvies to the vet for their blood test this afternoon!

Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Toonces. :YMHUG: Hope you all have a lovely blue-green day. :-D

I hope the pee situation resolves itself! I know someone suggested to me once to get one of those long rectangle high sided rubbermaid containers for a litter box, and cut a hole in the middle so she'd have to turn one way or the other when she goes in...Chyna likes to pee straight back and it was going through the crack at the joint (arthritis, hard to crouch). I ended up with one of those one piece high back ones. I guess that may not work with Cinco not seeing it unless you could teach/guide him...but I figured I'd mention it...

Good luck taking all the civies in, that sounds like quite a job. Paws crossed it all comes back negative. I'm glad Cinco took his first dose ok, I hope it works fast and wipes out all the infection fast :-D Hope the curve goes ok. Maybe the vet should pay for it if she wants it so bad  Hopefully you can get everything all cleaned up to your liking. Have a nice evening!

I totally understand about wanting to keep peace with your vet. Nice of them to spend your money for you, though, when you can do the job at home...argh. But hey, a day of cleaning comes out of it - woohoo! (I almost mean that seriously - I don't mind spending my days off restoring order to my chaotic house!)

Have a great evening, guys!

Re: 1/15 Cinco PMPS 311 Urinalysis Neg

Vet called this afternoon with urinalysis results - negative. No infection, no blood, etc. Good news, but what's causing this increase in thirst and peeing??? confused_cat
