Yesterday's Condo

♫It's raining, I's pouring, the old man is snoring ♫ !! Okay, it isn't exactly pouring, but it is raining, and for that I am very, very grateful.

Cinco is once again starting his day in the stinky pinkies, but has come down to yellow, as usual. He's been doing that in the morning, lately, but his PMPS numbers have been much better. I can't quite figure out why that is. Those two nice blue numbers last night made me think this dose might be the right one, but if we can't keep doing that, maybe not. :YMSIGH: Appy is still good, drinking not excessive, and peeing "normal" = things to be happy about. :-D

Harvey is doing well - I've managed to sneak some forti flora into his food this am, a little bit at a time. Maybe that way I can get a whole sachet into him by the end of the day. Paws crossed.

Rachel, if you're at lunch, don't read this part. Sasha threw up again very early this morning, but she gave me enough warning that I was able to drop her on the floor first. She did, however, eat her normal large breakfast, then came looking for more later. She's been that way her whole life, and I've never understood it. I just keep a supply of paper towels and carpet cleaner on hand. Maybe the forti flora in the food she steals from Harvey will help her.

Sending vines to all kitties in need and hugs to their beans. Happy Friday! :-D

Re: 2/7 Cinco AMPS 323 +3.5 256

Cinco is coming down nicely. I hope that he shows you lower pinks, and perhaps get into the yellows in the next couple of days...?

I am so glad to hear that you folks in CA are finally getting that much needed rain. WTG!!!!! Hoping that it continues for you.

Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by our condo today. We greatly appreciate, and welcome your visits. :YMHUG: :-D

I hope Cinco keeps sliding down for you. At least this time you were able to get Sasha off the bed. Yay for more rain.

I've been giving Cinco Forti Flora for several days now, since he's been on an AB for almost three weeks. Today he had (stop reading if you're eating) a very, very loose and smelly BM, part of which he smeared across the carpet, dragging his butt to try to get it off. I had to take him into the bathroom and wash his hind end (he is NOT a happy cat). grr_red cat(2)_steam .

My question is: has anyone else had their cat react to Forti Flora that way? Should I have only used half a packet per meal, instead of giving him the whole packet at one time? The only other thing I can think of that could have caused this is that I tried a new food last night - Evo 95% duck. I know some cats have digestive issues with new food, but Cinco has never been one of those. I hate to stop giving him the Forti Flora, but neither one of us want to go through THAT again. Feedback appreciated.

Don't worry Tricia, I learned my lesson and read condos before, and after, I ate

I found forti flora constipated Chyna...so I can't help on that question. BUT if we switch fuds too often or have too much variety, we get the runny poops no matter how careful I am. Of course we have the allergy thing going on too. And when Chyna first went on ABs for her dental (she had to be on them for a week before hand for her absessed tooth), she got constipated, and then the morning of the dental puked a bunch of clear liquids, went in and out of the litter box a bunch of times, and then had the biggest grossest smelly pile of cow poo looking pile ON THE CARPET while I was outside starting the car, as we were supposed to leave for the vet (this was before I was really watching for daily poos  ). She wasn't on a probiotic then. Sorry that's not much help...I guess I figured it was poo story day

And sorry Cinco, for the humiliating rear end cleaning  I'm glad he slid down to yellow (and saw blue!) and is feeling much better  I hope all the kitters will feel better soon! And I'm glad you are getting rain. Happy Friday!

I often give whole packets to mine and have no issues.
I bet it was the duck.... it's very high in fat and as a novel protein... could have been too much new at once.

Thank you, Rhiannon. I should have mentioned that he has had duck before, just not the Evo. I give them all Max Cat Savory Duck Chunks in Sauce about once a week, as a special treat. Perhaps the pate of the Evo is richer? Maybe I should try giving him 1/2 packet of the Forti Flora in the morning and 1/2 at night, on his regular food, and see how that goes.

Rachel, thanks for sharing your poo story! That's what I love about the board. When I tell my friends that have healthy cats about something I'm dealing with, they can't relate at all. Here on the board, there are always two or three, at least, that have been through something similar and can offer advice, or at least empathy. I bless the friend that told me about FDMB every day. :-D

I've never had an issue with the Forti Flora before, however you may want to try just giving a light dusting of it on his meals to see if that helps him? *shrug*

Hoping that he clears up quickly for you.

I'd be inclined to think it was the duck, too. As you mentioned, maybe the EVO variety of duck is just too rich for him. Since he's been taking the FortiFlora for a few days now, but the duck is the one thing that is different in the last day...it sounds like the duck.

Yes, poo stories on a Friday night...when we were kids, who-da thunk this would be our Friday nights? Anything for our kitties.

Have a great night, Tricia!

I'm sorry (sorry?) to say I have no good poo stories. Poor Cinco, having to get his bum washed!!! Not only had to deal with water, but also had to deal with someone messing about with his rear!!!

I hope you find out what caused his potty problems. I hope it's as simple as the food he ate.

Hope you're having a great evening!!
