Yesterday's Condo

Cinco keeps teasing me by stopping on the blue floor, but he doesn't seem to want to hang out there for long. This is the first time in a while he's gone there in the morning, so paws crossed it means he's finally settling into this dose. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do a dosecrease, and now I think I'm going to give it a couple more cycles. We made a change in the snacks we put in his feeder, and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. We used to give him bonito flakes and freeze-dried salmon bites, but last night we switched to FF Fish & Shrimp Feast. He really likes it. I think he was getting tired of bonito flakes :o . Paws crossed this trend continues....

Everyone else here is carrying on as usual. Harvey is still not crazy about the Forti Flora. I'm sneaking small amounts in his food and he's eating most of it, after initial hesitation. Sometimes he hesitates too long and Sasha comes by and cleans the plate. :YMSIGH: The pill pockets were working so well on Harvey that we tried them on Minka last night, and she ate her thyroid pill without batting an eye. I was delighted, but when I tried it again this morning, she turned and walked away from it. Back to putting it in her food and using the pill popper for the pred. Darn!

Still raining here. Now they're talking about flooding! :o Feast or famine, it seems. Oh well, my lawn will soon be green again and my daffodils are starting to bloom, so I'm good.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Hi Tricia, I haven't gotten to all the condos today, been busy poking and prodding poor Chyna  I'm here now! Nice blues Cinco :-D Way to keep mama bean guessing ;-)

I'm glad that Harvey is getting his FF, even if it's sneakily. Too bad Minka turned her nose up at pill pockets...Chyna did too, until I rolled them in purebites crumbs  Did you try the gel caps? Chyna eats the PP easier with that too. Her pepcid is very bitter. I've never had multiple inside cats, so I'm sorry that I laughed when you said Sasha cleans up the leftovers... :o

Wow on the rain. I won't see my lawn for a few more months, but I bet it will be really green after all the snow. You should snap a picture of the flowers for us poor snow covered folks who have many moons to wait for spring  . I hope you're having a good Caturday!

Nice blues for Cinco today. I hope he keeps surfing. I'm glad Harvey is eating the Fortiflora even if he hesitates at first. Sneaky Sasha. Before my Lucky passed away, he would always try to eat Furball's food. He was a hoover. He loved food. I had to trick him and put his food on two plates. Then when he went after Furball's food, I gave him his second plate. Too bad Minka won't eat the pill pockets. My hyper-t kitty won't eat them either. Why is it that the cats who need a pill every day don't like them. ohmygod_smile

Hi Rachel:

Minka never did fall for the pill pockets before, so I was surprised when she ate one yesterday. Maybe it was because she hadn't had one in a while, and Harvey was wolfing his down. I don't think she can smell the Felimazole. It's candy coated and I don't detect any odor (of course, her nose is much more powerful than mine). I ordered the gelcaps, but they haven't come yet. Speaking of your making me spend money on Amazon  , I got my litter lifter, and I love it. I'll have to get one or two more. With 7 boxes, I like to have a scoop for each one. Before this my preferred one was a big metal scoop, but this is a very close second. It doesn't work as well with the crystal litter I use in Minka's box (it's for long-haired cats - doesn't stick to the fur), but it's great with the other stuff.

I went out today and cut the two daffodils that had bloomed in the front yard. I normally don't cut them, but leave them out to brighten the yard. However, these two were just about drowning, so I had to rescue them.

Hope Chyna doesn't bounce any higher tonight.

OH, I love daffodils! So friendly and bright! Thanks :-D

I was looking at things to put pills in for pets a few months ago...there are of course "pill pockets" which have the low carb duck/pea that I need. But if they aren't for diabetics, there are also "hide 'ems" , "pill-masker", "pill wrap" and "flavor-doh". I saw two of them at drfosters and smith. And a few on Amazon ( ;-) )...I also saw "Pill-Os" but they advertised for dogs. Anyways, the fun things I research  Maybe one of those would work...or not.

I'm so glad you like the litter lifter! I tried the crystal stuff but Chyna and I didn't like it. I have a big metal one too, I still use it for the big clumps then follow through with the litter-lifter. How exciting my life is!

We're not really crazy about the crystal, either, but the vet was concerned about the clumping litter sticking to Minka's hair. She licks it off and ingests it, and the vet said it was starting to collect in her intestines. Not good. :YMSIGH: It's always something!

Thanks for the other suggestions for hiding pills. They are for my non-diabetic cats. I'll look into them tomorrow. We're headed out into the rain for dinner and cards with friends - our weekly social outing (other than bowling). Have a good night!
