Yesterday's condo

Well China's doing her usual "mamabean's not home today so I'd better surf yellow so she doesn't worry" act again today! And I love her for it!! It's just downright impossible for me to get to the pain doctor, get my pain pump refilled and get home in under 5 hours, so I was happy to see her in sunny yellow before I had to leave.

Other than me being gone, I'm not sure why she'd be in the 200's today, but I guess I won't look a gift surf in the mouth. Not sure my blood pressure could take it if she was in low blues or greens when I have to be gone so long. I'm a worry wort!

Went to 3 different places looking for a good pet scale (or something I could use as one) and had absolutely no luck. If any of you have a good one, I'd sure like to hear about it!

Hope you're all having a great Fursday!! Sending healing vines to those who need them today!

Hi Chris:

So glad China decided to oblige you with a safe, yellow surf today. Once she knows you'll be home for a while, maybe she'll visit the blue floor. :-D

I just got a new scale that I read about in someone else's condo (I am always stealing ideas from people here ;-) ). When I set it up my computer/electronics nerd dh said: "Oh, that's a really good quality brand. This should be good". So far, I love it. I not only use it for the cats, but last night I used it to weigh some packages for mailing. Here's the link: ZIEIS 15 Lb. Capacity Digital Pet and Animal Scale.

Sending good doctor visit and healing vines for your knee.

Hi Chris,

How are feeling? China knew you had plans today.

Thanks for the links to the scales!

Tricia, my biggest cat is over 25lbs, so that one wouldn't work, but they have one that goes to higher weights, so I just have to decide how much I want to spend on a scale.

Thanks Carla! That one might work, but I sure hate spending that kind of money on a scale, but I also know it's important for me to start tracking weights.

I wonder if a plain digital scale from WalMart would work? Maybe if I put a box on top, zero'd it out and waited for the inevitable...a cat to jump in...LOL

I'm doing ok Catherine. I'm not at all happy with this new pain doctor and I'm not quite sure what my next move is going to be, but I also have to get this knee surgery done soon so now might not be the best time to rock the boat.

I can't believe how China does this! She stayed in the 200's all day while I was gone, and then at PMPS she's lower than she's been all day....Hopefully she'll have a good cycle tonight and dip back into the greens since I'll be here and won't have to worry about her. She's such a good kitty to not make her mamabean worry when I'm gone!

Hope everyone is safe and warm tonight!

What a good girl, China, to surf yellow for your mama bean while she had to go, and then come back to blue for the night :-D For a scale, I ended up buying a postal scale and getting a basket that Chyna fits in to put on top as the top isn't wide enough...I didn't have the money to spend on the baby scales. I'd like to get one, but I couldn't find any in my town either, and by the time I pay shipping it's mucho $$$ . I hope you can find one on a good deal ;-) Have a nice night Chris!

I thought about that too Rachel, but with a 25+lb cat, I wasn't sure a postal scale would go that high without spending a lot of money again.

I'd rather go cheap with a Wally World scale and save a few bucks for more Basket Raffle tickets....LOL

So far, she's a very flat cat, but a flat blue cat so I'm happy!!!

Wow, that is a lot of cat to cuddle ;-) . My scale goes to 35lbs and I got it used on ebay from a shipping company going out of business...I tested it against our work scales (I work in a lab that has calibrated scales) and it's dead on. Chyna isn't really happy being put in a plastic basket to be weighed but she's good, now that I bribe her with a treat after  Yay for flat cat, and (anti-jinx) possible rest tonight for the bean :-D .
