WCR: All is well with Blackie. I'm expecting a wee bit of bouncing due to the dose adjustment, however, that'll be nothing new. Tomorrow morning, the sutures come out. I'm looking forward to getting this last vet visit over and done with.

This morning, the weather has turned rainy, and cold, and we're supposed to continue to drop through the morning and afternoon hours into the low 30's. Overnight will be in the low 20's to upper teens, or even lower. This is supposed to be the coldest weather yet. I have to get towels out to the barn and dry my horse off to so that I can throw the blanket on her. I stayed up until midnight to see if the temperature would come down, but it was still in the 60's. 5.5 hours later, I woke up to 44, and rain. I'm not sure when I'll have a window of opportunity to get that blanket on her, but I need to do something. She's an older mare, and when it's rainy, cold, and windy she gets cold pretty quick. Looks like it's me against Mother Nature for a bit this morning.

Sending tons and tons of healing vines, positive thoughts and vibes to anyone who needs them. Take what you need as I have tons.

I always used to worry about my horses when it was cold. I hope she appreciates her blanket and stays warm.

BJ loves her blanket. I just have to spend some time towel drying her so that I can throw it on her. I'm just hoping that she's in the barn right now staying out of the wind and rain. She usually greets me in weather like this, though, as she usually gets a cookie for a treat in the mornings. I hate today.

Ooookkkkk.... Thought I'd experience a bit of bouncing this morning, but... looks like someone's got an agenda again this morning. :lol: I need to take care of my horse right now, and probably towel dry her so that I can throw the blanket on her. The temperature is dropping right now, and thankfully it's stopped raining... for now.

Seems like Blackie's holding this string of 50's this morning. :lol:

I woke up to 44 this morning at 5:30, and now it's 33 at 8:44 a.m. 11 degree drop in that short of time. And it's only going to get colder.

After almost an hour of towel drying my horse off, she's got the blanket on her now. She'll be fine, and she walked out of the barn in the cold wind with the blanket. I'm so glad that we got it for her.

Well good news with Blackie!

I take care of my friends ranch when she is away and we stack the stalls with hay bales and then blanket the horses and stall them during cold weather. We also have chick heaters above the stalls which they like to be under. Just have to put them up high. So glad your old mare is well and warm! I can relate to being an old mare and warm. :lol:

This could be a combination of NDW, and the storms overhead. Who knows. Eventually, the #s will sort themselves out.
