Hi Amy. Last night my meter gave me reading between 400- HI in the same test. I was concerned with the Hi reading. I did some research and learned that over 300 there is. 20% variance. I think Don't quote me!! The higher numbers the meter is less accurate than he lower numbers. Because lower numbers are more of a concern... At least that's what I got from my research. I think I should still invest with a back up meter

Hey Andrea!! Looks like you got your wish!! A pretty blue nadir! Now Shadow, no need to go crazy on the last half of the cycle!

The 20% variance on meters is pretty much standard..and you're totally right that they're worse at the high numbers but it's the low ones we're most concerned with.

Using my trusty calculator, that 400 could be anywhere from 320-480 and usually the HI means at least 600, so that could be 480-720, so the real number was probably somewhere in between.

I started with the Relion Confirm because we were just getting used to poking, and wanted the meter that required the smallest sample size, but after I got China's ears "trained", I bought the Prime because it only takes a little more of a sample, and instead of $18 for 50 strips, they are only $9 for 50. Now I keep the Confirm for a backup. It always seems that when we need them the most is when their battery dies or there's some other kind of "malfunction", so it's always good to have an extra lying around!!

Hope Shadow will surf that pretty blue for you!
