~O) Good morning, LL!

Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=114952

AMPS-533, .25 units
+3 - 302
+5 - 321
+6.5 - 206
+8 - 352
+10 - 321

PMPS - 292, .50 units (dose increase)
+2.5 -366
+4 - 336

This morning:
AMPS - 367, .50 units
+3 - 340

Jersey is currently outside - tormenting a bird, squirrel, or civie, I'm sure. The sun is out, temps are supposed to be in the 50s today, and the snow may finally melt off the patio. Hopefully, UPS will also deliver the cat food, litter, calipers, and magnifying glass. They've been "out for delivery" for days now. :?

My question this morning: Are we in yet another bounce from yesterday's 206? We seemed to be doing relatively well the first week on Lantus. Now we can't find the good numbers anymore.

I have changed Jersey's feeding schedule.....again. I was lurking around last night and came across a recommendation to slow the insulin drop at the beginning of the cycle with food. (I'm sure I've only read such a recommendation 100 times on these boards since I joined. Last night, it finally clicked with me.) I'll try to move to a +2 feeding and see if that helps. I was feeding at +3.5. We've also started making the shot time move for DST. Thanks, Sienne, for posting that information!

Thanks to Julie, Kim, and Marje for stopping by yesterday. I'm glad I could bring back fond memories for you all of "back when"!

Re: 3/7 Jersey AMPS-367; +3-340; Are We Bouncing Again?

With each new dose that you do, there'll be a bit of bouncing that goes along with it. Usually this lasts for a few days, and then the kitty will settle down into the new dose. Hope that helps. :)

Re: 3/7 Jersey AMPS-367; +3-340; Are We Bouncing Again?

It does help, Angela. Thank you. People have explained to me over and over again NDW and bounces. I've also re-read the stickies until they're a big blur. I just still struggle to recognize all of it on my own! :-D

Re: 3/7 Jersey AMPS-367; +3-340; Are We Bouncing Again?

Hey Shelly - thanks for stopping by our condo! Reading and understanding the numbers is enough to drive you bonkers sometimes. I am very thankful to have the experts on this board to help sort things out. I've gotten plenty of ohmygod_smile when I do stupid stuff on my own because I think I know what I'm doing - lol! Never be afraid to ask if you're unsure. Hope Jersey finds some lower floors soon!

Re: 3/7 Jersey AMPS-367; +3-340; Are We Bouncing Again?

You'll get used to it after some time. Everything is new for you right now. Take your time, and just have patience.

Sienne, Angela, and Tara - Thanks for stopping by and offering your thoughts on the bounce and your words of encouragement.

We've had another frustrating day with bad numbers. The good news - I've had one more day with Jersey, for which I will be eternally grateful. Oh....and I was able to stalk her to the litter box and get a negative ketone test. Chappy, the civie, tried to help me get one this morning by pawing the bottle of test strips off into the litter box. Thanks, Chap - I know I'm supposed to be checkin' for ketones.

Recap of the day's numbers:
AMPS - 367, .50 units
+3 - 340
+6 - 342
+8.5 - 418
PMPS - 420, .50 units

I hope your supplies showed, I wonder if our postal people are related? Mine shows out for delivery (with no notice cards or anyone showing up) for a few days usually too  . I remember how much there is to read when you start the sugar dance, and I'm still reading and asking things  . I hope that Jersey will settle into the dose soon and give you a nice slide. Have a good evening!
