Well, the bounce has broken, and we're now diving.

Today:
AMPS -147, .50 units
+2 - 73 (fed FF low-carb)

Based on this number, I had planned on testing every hour. Do you think I need to test more often than that?

Thanks to those of you who visited my condo yesterday. I appreciate it.

I hope you all have a safe, green day!

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; Diving

Good morning Shelly ~O)

Holy bounce breaker Jersey! Wowzers!
I personally would check this again at +2.5 but then I would still check at +3. Twice was a very tough and tortured kitty  Jersey dropped by half in 2 hours and she isn't done. I would want to catch the drop in time to intervene with her lc food.
I believe you said you are going to feed now at +2 anyways...did you? I can't remember either, is she needing to put weight on? I ended up having to increase Twice's portions and it did seem to help him. But I also free-fed him as I wanted to know he could get to food if needed when I wasn't around (which was ALOT).

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; Diving

Hi Kim,

I missed your +2.5 recommendation, but I just checked at +3. It was up to 93, which I'm sure was food-induced. I did feed low-carb FF at +2.

I actually don't think I've ever mentioned Jersey's weight; I need to add that to our profile! She's probably a tad on the skinny side, but not by much - less than a pound maybe? I've been trying to get us on a set feeding schedule, but I have a tendency to simply feed her whenever she asks for it.

Thanks for checking in on us. My husband and I went to Wal-Mart for testing supplies right after the AMPS shot this morning. I actually told him Twice's story on the way! :-D

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; +3-93

I think you're right about the food influence. Here's hoping for a nice easy surf today. She sure does respond to those increases, but then such bounces afterwards :o :? I hope the new feeding schedule is able to help reduce the severity of those  It will be interesting to see what she does today!

And good work on grabbing more testing supplies before the weekend! I live in a very rural area (2.5 hours from a decent city) and I found this site literally hours before a major insulin crash (when he was still on Caninsulin). I only had a handful of strips and no hc. What a night  . Thank God for this board and the truly amazing people here, we managed to pull through by being extra conservative with the supplies and generous with the syrup! nailbite_smile
The next morning I was up before the sun and purchased a couple hundred test strips and lancets, as well as two cases of hc  Go big or go home.

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; +3-93; +4.5-74

Jersey decided that this morning was the morning she needed to scale the fence and chase squirrels. I think she knew I wanted a +4. Stupid ol' cat!

Recap:

AMPS-147, .50 units
+2 - 73; fed low-carb FF
+3-93
+3.5 - No test, fed a bit more low-carb FF and a few Orijen treats
+4.5 - 74

I'm going to try to feed her just a bit more low-carb right now (+4.5) if she'll eat it.

I know what you mean about going big, Kim. I was down to about 100 test strips this morning and started getting nervous about it...and over 100 cans of cat food arrived at my house yesterday. I may have to build a pantry for cat supplies!

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; +3-93; +4.5-74, +6-165, +7.5

Thanks for stopping by Furball's condo today. It looks like Jersey is keeping you on your toes. I hope the bounce won't be too high.

Re: 3/8 Jersey AMPS-147, +2-73; +3-93; +4.5-74, +6-165, +7.5

Ok, Jersey that is a high enough bounce, you showed us that your liver is working! Now slide back down to some nice blues for PMPS, k?

Wow on the busy pokey day, good job Shelly :-D I hate it when supplies are low, it always happens at the worst time. I'm glad you're all stocked up now ;-) . Happy Caturday!

(PS, I do have a "cat pantry" ; it was a "human" food pantry but the first two shelves are now for Chyna, and so are the top two bookshelves in our testing room and a shelf in the closet!)

That's funny about the pantry, Rachel. I mentioned to DH tonight that we should move the two whole packages of human food we currently have in our pantry into the cat cabinet and put the cat food (100+ cans) in the people pantry. He didn't think I was amusing - at all! :-D Tonight, he asked what was for supper, and I pulled out a can of ZiwiPeak Venison. I can't imagine why he went to the grocery store after that!

Thanks for your visit, Carla. We've (perhaps) started the bounce; I just hope we can get through it quickly. That last one seemed endless!

Latest numbers:

PMPS - 290, .50 units
+3 - 328

oh my - what a dramatic bounce! wowser Jersey!

too funny on the cat food, shelly. Not very long ago every time we went to the store the Fancy Feast was 44 cents a can - i kept buying cases of it. Usually it's 58 cents. I was going through the check-out stand with 6 cases of food, then stacking the cases up in the garage. We go through 7 cans a day with the 3 cats but for a while we were going through 10 cans!

hope that bounce clears quickly!

Jersey look at you in green today!!!

Great job, Shelly!

My DBFF thinks our pantry looks like petsmart :-D
