Happy Caturday LL!

Well, it was a long night for both China and me. Having her surfing the 60's isn't a real good way to induce sleep, but since I was pretty uncomfortable from the surgery, I wasn't able to sleep much anyway. My pain level is a little better today, but we've also got an icky cold, wet weather front moving in, so the pain pills are staying close.

Needless to say, the bounce has arrived, but she's already working on clearing it and I'll probably give her ears a rest this afternoon unless she gives me some indication she's coming down fast and needs a bite or two to eat. One bad thing about all white kitties...when you poke them as often as I do, it really can get to look pretty bad, even though there's really nothing "wrong". At least now, if I can get a nap in this afternoon, I really shouldn't have to worry about China..she's still high enough that she shouldn't (repeat shouldn't) drop to anything I'd need to worry about in the last half of the cycle.

DM is really itching to get out and start making plans for her big move to her new apartment, but knows I just can't do it yet. She wants to measure for curtains, see how much room she'll have for furniture so we can start making plans for what we can move from her old house and what won't fit or just won't work the best in a smaller place.

I really hadn't thought this completely through when we started discussing moving her into a new place. I was just thinking about all the stuff that has to move too, other that just the "big stuff"...things like dishes, silverware, pots and pans, bedding, clothes, small appliances, toiletries, etc. etc. etc....and of course knick knacks...those things that you scatter around to make a house a home. What was I thinking???

Oh well, at least we have the benefit of not having to do it all at once. I couldn't imagine trying to move her over a weekend! We can take the whole month of March to get her moved in enough to be able to live there by April 1st, and other stuff can come up as we think of it or she decides she wants it. Then the work of REALLY clearing out the big house will start. Over 60 years of accumulated "treasures" to go through and either toss, donate or try to sell. DD was REAL close to being a hoarder, and could never throw anything out. "I might need that one of a kind screw (that will never again fit into anything since it IS a one of a kind screw) sometime in the next 50 years so I'm keeping it!!!" was his motto!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Caturday, and that your kitties are feeling great. Sending healing vines to those that need them, and appreciate the visits and vines you've sent my way too!

Oh Chris! I'm sorry I missed sending you surgery vines   But here is an extra potent batch of quick recovery and low pain vines for you :-D :-D :YMHUG:

China, really?? You have been such a good girl in a pinch lately, so why the stressful 60's? Let's give mama a break and not clear this bounce in any manner that isn't gentle and easy ok? :-D

Sounds like you're going to have a busy month with DM. And yes, great that you have that whole month. Between the shopping, sorting, tossing, packing and transporting...Whew!! You are going to need a vacation girl!!

Hope your day is restful for you Chris.

Hi Chris! I'm sorry it still hurts a lot and you had such a rough night with China, hopefully she will clear the bounce slowly (hear that China, slow?).

It's good your DM is so excited. Would you guys consider a moving company for her stuff, or is that out of budget? I used movers the last two times I moved and it was the best money I ever spent. I packed it all into boxes myself, and moved some of the little stuff myself (and Chyna of course) but DM and DD are older and I have a bad back. I just had to look around to find the ones with good reputations and got them on special...but I know cost wise that isn't always do-able. The cleaning out of the old house sounds like quite a job...I helped my parents when they sold the farm to move to a much smaller place in town and boy was that fun

I'm sending fast healing and low pain vines to you, and scritches to China! Happy Caturday :-D

Sorry you didn't get much sleep last night. I hope China behaves better tonight. :-D At least she's giving you a break today. Sending prayers for you Chris.

Well, we're kind of back where we started this morning! I'm hoping the 73 point drop in 3 hours isn't previews of coming attractions again. With China, you just never know! I think I'm going to just have to get used to the fact that when she's low and in those 50's/60's, she's perfectly fine and seems to do really pretty well that low. Would I prefer she surfed the 70's or 80's? You bet I would....but I don't think she's asking for my opinion....LOL

Thanks for the visits and the vines. The knee is better tonight, so I'm hoping tomorrow it'll be even better so I can at least get some rest without waking up in pain.

Hi Chris,

I don't know if I've met you yet - I'm Shelly. I just wanted to send out thoughts and prayers to you for a speedy (and painless from here on out) recovery. I hope China helps you along by not dropping too low!

Best wishes!
Shelly

Hi Shelly and thanks for the visit!!

We're all one big family around here, so happy to meet you! Thanks for the well wishes too. This knee surgery was kind of a "Hail Mary" to hopefully avoid the full knee replacement, so I'm trying really hard to let it heal correctly, and mostly that means staying off of it (which with as much as it's hurt, hasn't been real hard to do). It'll be harder when it's not so painful, but the doctor said it's important that I continue staying off it as much as I can for at least 6 weeks.

With my 84yr old mother ready to move out of Assisted Living and into her own apartment for the first time ever, doing what the doctor ordered is going to be tough. She's so excited that I hate to keep putting her off.

So far, so good with China, but she's got her own ideas about blood glucose...she could easily be in the 50's by AMPS time. She likes to keep me guessing! I'm hoping she'll go ahead and have a more "normal" cycle this time since we were up most of the night last night.

Thanks again for the visit, and sure hope Jersey breaks that bounce a little slower this time! China does that too...breaks them so fast she sets herself up for another one.

Oh, that's interesting...not what I envisioned at all, but I hope it's working to help your knee feel better! Too bad it uses ice so fast. You'll have to get an ice making machine for your living room ;-)
