Okay, I was wrong. I wasn't able to comment on any condos last night. Grading is taking a lot longer than I thought it would.

Yesterday's Condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=115675

Thanks so much, Julie, for stopping by yesterday and sharing your thoughts on food spikes. I appreciate it.

Yesterday's Numbers:

AMPS - 318, .75 units
+1.25 - 339

PMPS - 277, .75 units
+2 - 196
+4 - 224
+ 6 - 250

Today:
AMPS - 193, .75 units

Jersey is just being Jersey. Appy is good, but purring is not. Does growling count instead for the 5 p's? DH doesn't do very well with blood draws first thing in the morning. (I don't think he holds the rice sock on quite long enough.) The end result is growling instead of purring. I always take it as a sign that Jersey girl feels like her usual self! I'm once again stalking the poor little kitty, but I haven't been able to catch a ketone test yet. That's on my to do list for the day. To do list:

#1. Poke cat - check
#2. Feed cat - check
#3. Shoot cat - check
#4. Grade papers - in progress
#5. Stalk cat to litter box - in progress
#6. Remove cat urine from student's paper because I got ketone test strip and student's paper mixed up - in progress

Thoughts and prayers, as always, are being sent to all of the special people and special kitties on FDMB.

Re: 3/19 Jersey AMPS - 193

I always rub Furball's ear with my fingers to help warm it up before I poke. Good luck getting a ketones test in. I glanced at yesterday's condo and I agree with Julie. I think you should feed Jersey what she likes as long as it isn't making her BG skyrocket. I don't think 60 is skyrocketing. I hope you get those paper graded.

Re: 3/19 Jersey AMPS - 193

We haven't had a chance to stop by and welcome you. Those ear pokes are not any fun for the bean or the kitty. Good luck getting a ketone test and your papers graded!

Recap of the Day
AMPS - 193, .75 units
+1.5 - 198
PMPS - 315, .75 units

So....my to do list isn't completed this evening. The grading still remains to be done. I was getting pretty grumpy after reading some of the papers, so I decided I better take a break for a while.

The ketone test also remains to be done. We're finally getting some warmer weather, which means Jersey likes to play guard cat and prowl around the premises. She also likes to use the giant litter box - aka, 3 acres of yard. Do you think the neighbors would call mental health services if they saw me stalk a cat around the yard and then hold a little piece of paper under her butt? ohmygod_smile If you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know what happened.

Carla ~ Thanks for the testing tip. We're actually still paw testing. We had given up on the ear testing in the beginning (too many failed attempts and tears), and the paw testing has worked really well for us so far. Well....except for DH rushing the process in the mornings.

Melissa ~ Thanks for the welcome and words of support. I appreciate it. Everyone has been so great here.

Julie ~ We're definitely in the "normal" mode. You know how bounces happen because kitties think normal means high numbers? We have to teach them a new normal. I wish someone would teach me the new normal of a slow-paced life. It might take awhile, but I am positive I could get used to it!

Sounds like the new routines are working out pretty well. Did the papers get graded?
Have a fine, somewhat restful, evening.

Yeah I'm wondering that too. :)

Sounds like a busy day! I hope you got most of it done.

Thank you for visiting my condo. :-D

I think growling counts....love a feisty kitty! I use my fingers to gently warm Trix's ears, too. I've never used the sock, but I wonder if maybe it could be overwhelming Jersey a bit?? Just a thought.

I hope the rest of the grading goes smoothly. I don't envy you teachers with having all that homework! Have a great night!

Re: 3/19 Jersey AMPS - 193, +1.5-198, PMPS-315, +3-276, +5-1

Ella ~ Does close count? I got about half of them graded. Apparently, I am going to have an identical to do list as I did today. Boooooo!

Dwight and Jennifer ~If you must know, I also failed at getting cat urine on students' papers. Yes, yes, I am a complete failure. I should be ashamed of myself. Perhaps I could carry it over to tomorrow's to do list as well??? :-D

Amy ~ Thank you. I think growling counts, too. ;-)

Thank you all for visiting me this evening. I hope your kitties surf safely tonight while you check your eyelids for cracks. (Another DH expression that seems appropriate this evening.....)

2 feed bobcat check
3 shoot husband check
4 adult beverage check
5 second adult beverage check
