Good morning everyone:
Yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=116094

Because it's so difficult to measure with these aging eyes, I believe I have been dosing slightly under .25. I have been leaving the tip of the plunger almost touching the zero mark and today, using a 10x loupe, I see that I could be leaving a little more space between the zero line and the tip of the plunger. Does anyone else have this problem? I read where someone here was using glasses from Walmart with a magnifying feature. I think that's a good idea.

3/26 Summary:
AMPS 120
+2 91
PMPS 126
+2 106
+4 90

Today 3/27:
AMPS 121 gave .25 units
+2 109
PMPS 119 gave .25 units
+2 93
+4 85

Have a great day everyone.
Dwight

Re: 3/27 Boots AMPS 121

Nice start for Boots this morning. I haven't gotten to that small of a dose yet. I've read other people use magnifying glasses and lights to help them see. Maybe put a ? in your subject line to get some responses.

i could see the lines ok with reading glasses. i'm a quilter and one of my friends stacks 2 pair of reading glasses on at the same time - i laughed at her until i decided to see what it looks like. OHMYGOSH - it's all VERY clear! so ya look stupid, but hey, if it helps give it a try!

some people (Anne/Liz) use these special optical glasses like jewelers use. if you want the link to those, ask Anne/Liz (Zener) for it.

The important thing with dosing is that you are able to be consistent from one shot to the next.

I bought a pair of cheap reading glasses from WalMart Dwight. Makes seeing those lines a little easier.

Some people use special magnifying lenses with lights, but the reading glasses seem to work OK for us. The only time I have a lot of trouble is when I look too long. If I'm not sure where I'm seeing, and keep looking at it too long, I swear those lines start moving!!

It's not so important that you're getting exactly .25...just that whatever you're seeing as .25 is consistent from dose to dose.

We all sure wish there was some kind of regulation that required syringes to be consistent and correct so that no matter what brand you use, the lines were guaranteed to be in the same place on each one...until they do, we all just do the best we can

Boots is looking great again today! :-D I know the microdosing is hard. When we did the small dosing, I ended up taking a syringe with water and measuring and counting drops, getting to know the size of each drop when it was filled to certain places in the syringe. Some people from here told me to use colored water or juice but the water worked fine for me...I think there is a post in the stickies on this forum of someone showing pics of drops too. I can try find it if you want? I'm on my iphone right now so it's hard to search. I've seen the lenses Liz/Anne use and they are pretty cool! I hope you can find something to work for you  . Have a great rest of your Fursday!

Thanks ladies. I figured the best of the best would come to my rescue. ;-)

I think I'm probably being consistent but I believe I was giving less than the .25 and that bothers me. I'm just a perfectionist and that is how my mind works. If I need to be .25 than I don't want .2 or .3 even though it probably doesn't matter. The hard part is trying to see the black lines with the black plunger underneath. It would be better if there were two different colors. Anyway, before I fill the syringe, I have been closely looking at the lines through the 10x just to see how they look and getting a feel of where I need to be for the .25 level.

Can anyone comment on the slightly higher numbers since I started the reduction. The daily cycle has been very flat. Is this flat cycle what we want to see even if the numbers are a little higher or would we like to see numbers a little lower? Or am I being impatient?

Boots is looking great again today!
Thanks Rachel. Then I guess that he must be doing OK. There have been times this week that the greater number of and slightly higher blues doing .25 kind of bothered me over the fewer mid cycle blues he had at .5. So the rookieness in me makes me think it's a step backwards. But.... since I don't get many of you coming on and telling me that this is a problem, I don't worry about it so much.

So, thanks for stopping ladies and have a great rest of your evening.

everything under 120 is considered normal. so he's basically staying in normal range - i suspect the middle of every cycle is a solid green. i think i would hold a little longer and if he trends upward, you might tweak the dose so it's less than 0.5u and more than 0.25u. if you were home mid-day i'd say give it a try, but without being able to check then i'm thinking err on the side of conservative.

really though, when i look at his numbers on 0.5u i'm seeing basically the same thing as on 0.25u. that means that his body is producing some insulin to supplement what you are giving.

Thanks Julie. I will just keep doing what has been working. I believe he has come a long way in a short time so I have nothing to complain about. I was just wondering what the experts think as I value your opinions.
