Good evening everyone. Sorry I haven't been on here most of the week. It's been busy. But I thought I'd give you a quick update, Bonk is doing well. He is still riding that roller coaster, but I'm seeing more and more low numbers and a lot more energy! I have to say, I'm seeing him play more now than I have in months! He must have been sick for a long time, and I never noticed.

His appetite has been great, and though he still keeps asking for the dry food, he is eating the canned. He has been having mostly regular bowel movements everyday (I track this in my chart, you will see I added an extra column to keep tabs on what days he poops). Though his poop has gone from the somewhat watery blobs to long, skinny, but solid poop (sorry for any visualizations!). I'm not sure what to think of that, skinny poop is not something I think of in relation to megacolon.

So things are going well, just busy as usual. I just have to say, I'm thrilled to see my old Bonk coming back! I missed him!

It's great to hear from you, Brian. I'm so glad that Bonk is doing better and that his energy levels are coming back. I'm guessing Jersey was probably diabetic for at least a year before we caught it. Hindsight, of course, tells me that there were early warning signs we should have caught. :YMSIGH: We can't change the past, though. All we can do is help them to the best of our abilities now - like keeping the kibble away from the little beggars! Jersey wanted to steal a waffle covered in syrup off my plate this morning. Why, oh why, do they have to be such carb addicts?

Sorry I can't help you with the poop/megacolon issue. I'm sure someone on here could help you interpret the poo, though! :lol: I just commented on another condo tonight that I would have never imagined chatting with strangers online about cat poo. I just love this place!
