Yesterday's Condo

Well, guess we cleared the bounce! Of course, DH informs me Cinco did not eat very much of his first breakfast, so I suspect that has something to do with this drop. That's why I tested him at +4. He ate his second meal at +3 with great enthusiasm and couldn't get enough. I had to call a halt to refills in case I need to feed him later.

I bandaged his leg before bed and put his party hat back on to protect the eye. DH left the collar on this am, so I took it off when I got up, but bandage is still in place. I am going to call the OV's office to see if they've had other kitties with the same experience after the pain patch is removed.

I scheduled an appointment this coming Wednesday with an oncologist at the UCDavis Veterinary Hospital clinic. They have already ordered all Cinco's records from the OV and regular vet, plus the scans and x-rays that have been taken. I'm hoping the results from the additional tests will be available by then, too. The coordinator was very thorough, and he asked how Cinco was doing. I told him he has no unusual symptoms, that his BGs have been good and he's actual earning reductions in insulin. I guess they're used to their patients being very sick, but (anti-jinx) so far Cinco is doing fine. :-D

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
Cheers to Shelly and Jersey as they start their OTJ trial. :RAHCAT
My heart is still hurting for Rachel as she mourns her beloved Chyna. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Nice numbers for Cinco today.

I hope you get good news from the oncologist.

What a nice cycle for Cinco today. How 'bout we do it again tonight, Cinco? Nothing drastic, just a pretty surf in the lagoon.

Keep us updated on the oncologist visit and lab results. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to wait for a plan. (Of course, I'm not a patience-pants kind of gal. ;-))

I'm sending tons of healing vines for Cinco and lots of anti-stress vines to you. I know you have a lot to deal with right now. Hang in there!

So glad Cinco seems to be doing so well. Sending vines for the best vetty visit possible with the oncologist. Bet he is enjoying his cone free time - you too, must be so much easier for testing and feeding~
Have a gret night Tricia :-D

Thanks for stopping by, Jane, Shelly, Carla and Anne. I've been running around all day and had no time to be online till now.

Doesn't look like we'll be visiting the lagoon tonight, but a stop on the blue floor is still looking likely, paws crossed! I wasn't really up for a PJ party, anyway. ;-)

Cinco is indeed loving the cone-free life. When I go to bed I'll put it back on  and take the bandage off his leg so it can get some air. I called the OV's office about the fact that he was cleaning it so obsessively. They said they hadn't heard of anyone with that problem before, but it could just be some adhesive was still there and he couldn't get it off. The OV approved the idea of bandaging it. Once it heals some, I'll try cleaning it for him and see if that solves the problem. Then I can leave the collar off all the time, as the incision will be completely healed - it's almost there now. Testing and shooting, as well as feeding, are soooo much easier without that collar!

My DH and I have both noticed the past couple of days that Cinco seems to feel really good - he's much more active than he's been for ages. He jumped up on the sofa by himself last night and tonight - something he hasn't done since before he went blind. He's also holding his head up - he'd been hanging it down all the time before. I think that tumor was really bothering him, poor baby, and we had no idea. Now that it's gone, he feels so much better. :-D It's really lovely to see, but makes me feel bad that we didn't realize something was wrong sooner. ohmygod_smile
