Hopefully, his bounce is stopping now. He had a drink from his watering can, ate most of his 1st Breffis and got his probiotics and Denamarin this morning. He also got Miralax. I'm not sure how this AB will affect his poos, but so far so good.

J.D. went back to bed, and that's where I'm headed in a few.

Re: 04/19 J.D. AMPS 380

Enjoy your btb, Dyana. It sounds like a really good plan! Come on, J.D. Let's see some pretty pastel greens and blues for Easter weekend.

Sending lots of good poo vines J.D.'s way!

Hi Dyana! you've been on my mind this morning. I'm admiring JD's ss and see that beautiful 112! Saw that you're taking him with you to work tomorrow, and i just wanted to toss out a thought. Since you're off today, I wonder if you waited for him to begin rising, clearly past his nadir, say to 175 or 200 - if you gave him just one drop of R to head off the 500+ that is no doubt coming - i wonder if he would flatten out. In theory, if you could prevent the rise to the top of the cliff, you could prevent the dive off the cliff. I'd probably just use the "push in plunger, insert into Lev, release plunger and let a breath of insulin pull in" amount.

It's possible that, just like with shooting L into a low number, you'd see a flat response rather than a dive.

It's just a thought. I have no idea if you're home tonight or if it would work or not, but i wanted to throw it out there for you to consider.

Re: 04/19 J.D. AMPS 380, +3.5 260, +5.25 169, +6.5 112, +7.7

I don't know Julie, R on a 175 sounds really scary to me. I normally only give it if he is well over 300 and often HI or in the 400s and up.
Did you see his dive the night before last? If I had used R then, he would have dove even more vertically :-|
So, you're thinking if I give R when first on his way up, that it will act like Levemir (or Lantus) and he won't dive? Gulp!
I guess I could try it nailbite_smile

He came down from the bounce today pretty quick, at least.
We just got back from out second long walk today, as it is a beautiful spring day outside.

that's what i'm thinking, yes. you'd be giving R against his normal rise, so i'm thinking it wouldn't cause him to drop but rather exert force against the momentum and prevent the rise. I don't know what will happen, i'm just guessing based upon logic and what i've seen with punkin and other cats. I believe Marje used to use R when Gracie was starting a bounce. I've seen Libby suggest that several times with Crushy and other cats. The moment they start to significantly go up is the time to use it.

but you know him best, dyana. i'm not trying to pressure you into it. i just saw the numbers today, knew you were off and thought if you DID want to try it, this would be an opportunity. And I know how frustrated you've been with his numbers going so high. But if it doesn't work for you or makes you too nervous, i totally understand! :YMHUG:

Hi Dyana,
Nice blue (and green) today!
I hope this AB won't have bad affect on his tummy.
Sending healthy perfect poo vines to J.D.
And good appy vines too just in case!

I hope that J.D. will give you a nice blue night. Or maybe throw in a high green;) It's nice you got out for a walk on a beautiful day. I'm sending good poo vines, and I hope you're all having a nice weekend :-D
