Furball was happy & purry this morning. She's still sneezing a little bit, so I gave her another Zyrtec. I have a four day weekend coming up, so I'm hoping to be able to see what she's doing on this dose. TGIF.

She's been sneezing more days than usual. The Zyrtec usually helps quicker. I hope it helps clear it up. I have Monday off and took Tuesday too.

Well, of course, Furball wasn't expecting you home so early, or I'm sure she'd have been in the blue for you! :lol: Ahh, Furball, you're going to have Mama around for four days, so you'd better be planning a trip to the lagoon to keep her entertained! ;-)

Have you tried anything other than Zyrtec for Furball's sneezing? I tried it with Sasha, and the results were so-so. I've tried Benadryl, too, and that seems to work better. On top of everything else, she started sneezing again yesterday, so I gave her a Zyrtec, and it didn't seem to work as well as when I'd given her one before. This morning I gave her a Benadryl, so we'll see if that helps more.

I haven't tried anything else. The Zyrtec usually works. How much Benadryl do you give? Does it come in a pill?

So far, I've only tried capsules of Benadryl I ordered online. It was supposed to be for cats, but it came in a 50mg capsule!!! The rule is approximately 1 - 1.5 mg per pound of weight, so I am giving Sasha about 10 mgs. It was NOT easy to divide it up, as the capsule is tiny - like a #4! I have not yet explored other forms, but I do have some old 25mg tablets (they are candy coated, but so small I would think the amount of sugar is negligible). I'm sure you can get it in different forms and amounts. I tried the children's liquid once on Sasha, but it was cherry flavored and she hated it - it made her foam at the mouth like she had rabies!

I hope that pink you caught when you got home early was just the peak before the break and Furball is planning on sliding down safely for you tonight.

I hope the Zyrtec clears up her sneezes. I gotta say, until we got to FDMB, I had no clue how many human meds could be used for the same purpose with cats - zyrtec, benadryl, metamucil, etc. :lol: I learn something new here every single day! :smile:
