Good morning LL
,
Hoping everyone had a restful weekend with their pets - so nice to have warm, patio weather after such a wet, cold spring.
Pixie and I have been up since about 4am and we're trying to get caught up on what's been happening with our friends on FDMB over the weekend.
Pixie is in the blue at AMPS and I decided to give him Wellness/chicken pate only this morning. He loved it and ate most of a small can -2.6oz. This is the most he has eaten at any one time since May 17th and I'm curious to see what it does to his blood glucose. Yesterday, when I gave some to Pixie it caused him to jump into the blue but it was later in the cycle when his insulin shot was waning. My strategy today is to feed Wellness early in the cycle and then try Merrick later through the day.
I am also currently trying to figure out which meds work most effectively for Pixie. This morning I skipped the pain meds which definitely improve his appetite and opted to give Pixie his cerenia instead. Because the cerenia was given about 5 minutes before feeding then I am concluding that his increased appetite was not due to the meds but rather by the different diet. Who knows how much Pixie will eat in the next few hours when he's already eaten so much and his next meals will be Merrick/chicken and not Wellness. Oh well, maybe I should have only changed one parameter this morning. Time will tell!
Healing vines to all the kitties and their beans that need them. Have a great day!
