Trix seems to be feeling pretty good this morning :-D ! She's been very snuggly and, relatively speaking, she's eaten pretty well - probably never enough for this MamaBean, but she's done OK so far today. I still have to present the plate, but I have been able to actually put it down in front of her more and more, rather than actually holding it. She sure is taking the teeniest kitten steps possible, but she's taking them nonetheless.

Right now, she is hanging out in the sunny family room, which is yet another first since she got sick. She always hung out there before the pancreatitis, and lately she's only been hanging out there during the evenings, but not during the day. So yay...another teeny tiny kitten step!

I'm attempting to force myself to follow a more rigid feeding schedule, rather than shoving a plate in her face at any random moment. I want to see if we'll get better results this way, and I'm hoping I can really better gauge what she's eating. Of course, though, following a schedule is really up to her more than it is up to me  ...so we'll see what she has to say about it.

Back to work for me today. I don't think I'll be able to come home midday, because I actually want to come home early this evening. DH is playing volleyball tonight and he has to leave much earlier than when we normally do Trix's fluids, so I want to come home and get the fluids done before he leaves, rather than waiting till he gets back, which will be very late. She definitely needs both of us for fluids...she is quite feisty about it these days! He headbutts her the whole time, while I skritch her cheeks and hold the needle steady. If either of us moves, she is outta there!

What's so sweet, though, is she forgive so quickly. Last night after her ear poke, plate of food, gelcap, and fluids - all of which happened over the course of 45 minutes - she came to snuggle just minutes after the fluids. She knows we're helping, even if it makes her uncomfortable for a little while. I'm spending as much time snuggling with her as she wants...it's part of the healing process for both of us!

Time for that pre-work workout. Have a great day, LL!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

LOVE today's WCR. I think she is doing great, coming along just fine, and your Trixie is back, even with a few small modifications to the routine. You've done really well with her. One happy kitter! I too alwyas felt our kitties know when we are trying to help them. I know Mannie did - ever so patient that one when he was so sick. He tried so hard to do what we needed him to do. Seems Trixie is too, even with the feisty-ness at fluids time.

Good luck too with trying to follow a fixed feeding schedule. Maybe she will like it.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Sweet girl. Glad to hear she is feeling good and doing more of her normal stuff. Good luck with the feeding schedule. You just want them to eat so bad at first. Time to get some normalcy, huh? Have a good day back to work. I don't blame you on wanting to get the fluids done before DH leaves for volleyball. Sounds like it is undoable for one person. Have a great day Amy!

Unconditional love!!! I just thanked Shasta, last night, for her unconditional love...through all the pokes, the fuds she doesn't necessarily love but eats anyways, all the vacuuming...she loves me anyways! Scritches to Trixie for loving always and for taking baby kitty steps! Hope tbp is low key and hope you can get home early. Have a good day, Amy!

Nicely done, Trix! She definitely knows you are doing things to help her but she does have her limits! Have a great day!

Kitten steps are good, as long as they are headed in the right direction. Way to go, Trixie!! I know it is hard not to be patient -- I am the queen of trying to do things too suddenly. The fluid thing is so tricky and what works for one cat, doesn't for another. Cleo was a handful, kind of like Trixie, but as long as you feed Mr. Simon some dried chicken, he will sit there all day getting fluids. :-D

HOpe your work day is ok.

Hi Amy and Trixie,

Great to hear about the kitten steps Trixie is making - yippee! I've come to realize that this is a long, arduous process that no one can really rush. Congrats on the royal poop award yesterday  .

Wishing you continued success with Trixie and a good day at work, Amy!

Another happy Trixie report. Gosh, it makes me feel good to read your condo these days. I think you are calming down just a little - maybe you can put the helicopter in the hangar for a while? ;-)

It makes is all easier when they forgive so quickly. Sasha is the same way. We can wrestle ferociously, with her scratching and crying, as I try to get a pill into her, but once it's done and I turn her loose, she doesn't run away and is soon purring and rubbing against my hand as I scratch her neck. Gotta love 'em! :-D

Have a great day, Amy.

This PMBG actually makes me think Trix may have been the one to eat at least some of the food I left out today, since eating brings her numbers down these days. I wish I had a spy cam to confirm that!

We've had a good start to the evening...she's eating OK...never enough for MamaBean, but not bad. We're plugging away, bit by bit. We had an awesome round of snuggles after her fluids. Sadly, I had to interrupt them to do her gelcap, and now she's snuggling with civvie Noah instead. I'm sure she'll surface again at some point for more MamaBean snuggles. Honestly, I happy that she's snuggling, no matter who it is with, as that is total TrixieCat behavior which was absent for a few weeks during the worst of this p-titis episode!
