Trix seems to be feeling pretty good this morning
! She's been very snuggly and, relatively speaking, she's eaten pretty well - probably never enough for this MamaBean, but she's done OK so far today. I still have to present the plate, but I have been able to actually put it down in front of her more and more, rather than actually holding it. She sure is taking the teeniest kitten steps possible, but she's taking them nonetheless.
Right now, she is hanging out in the sunny family room, which is yet another first since she got sick. She always hung out there before the pancreatitis, and lately she's only been hanging out there during the evenings, but not during the day. So yay...another teeny tiny kitten step!
I'm attempting to force myself to follow a more rigid feeding schedule, rather than shoving a plate in her face at any random moment. I want to see if we'll get better results this way, and I'm hoping I can really better gauge what she's eating. Of course, though, following a schedule is really up to her more than it is up to me  ...so we'll see what she has to say about it.
Back to work for me today. I don't think I'll be able to come home midday, because I actually want to come home early this evening. DH is playing volleyball tonight and he has to leave much earlier than when we normally do Trix's fluids, so I want to come home and get the fluids done before he leaves, rather than waiting till he gets back, which will be very late. She definitely needs both of us for fluids...she is quite feisty about it these days! He headbutts her the whole time, while I skritch her cheeks and hold the needle steady. If either of us moves, she is outta there!
What's so sweet, though, is she forgive so quickly. Last night after her ear poke, plate of food, gelcap, and fluids - all of which happened over the course of 45 minutes - she came to snuggle just minutes after the fluids. She knows we're helping, even if it makes her uncomfortable for a little while. I'm spending as much time snuggling with her as she wants...it's part of the healing process for both of us!
Time for that pre-work workout. Have a great day, LL!
