All is pretty "calm" here in our corner. Trix was pretty gluttonous again last night, which was totally awesome to see! Since we're seeing more and more days like that, I'm really hoping and praying that her confidence about food and eating is coming back now. Maybe someday MamaBean won't have to hold the plate????? That's OK, Trix...if I have to hold the plate, I shall gladly do so for you - whatever it takes!

This morning has been a slower start, but that's pretty par for the course in the mornings. It's so much harder on the days that I work since I have such a limited amount of time to cram calories into her....I can't give her as much time between offerings as I can in the evening, and I think that break in between platefuls really helps her appy. But, I have the syringe feedings which "guarantee" me calories, so as long as I can't convince her to eat enough from a plate before I have to leave, I can always fall back on the syringe.

Nonetheless, she is snuggle city :-D !!!

Yesterday, my civvie Petey's appy was way off. I tell ya, it's always something. Usually that means a hairball is on the way, but so far no hairball. He, along with his two littermate brothers, also has digestive sensitivities, so it's not super uncommon for them to be "off" for a day or two sometimes, but no matter how many years I've dealt with it, it is ALWAYS so nerve rattling when anyone decides they don't feel like eating. I can deal with almost anything else better than a cat who won't eat. But, fortunately, by evening, his appy started coming back even though no hairball surfaced, and he ate an acceptable breakfast this morning. Phew. Crazy cats are trying to kill me, one way or another. It's a good thing they are so cute and sweet and I love them so much!!

Sending extra prayers out to Tricia and her civvie Sasha this morning...quick recovery from Sasha's surgery and a smooth transition back to life at home!

I don't know how time passes so quickly these days....I feel like I just got up, but it is time to squeeze in that workout and get ready for work. Have a great day, LL!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Woot! Another great start in TrixieVille. Very cool Miss Trixie. How cool that it seems that she is returning to her love of food. I sure hope that continues. :-D It is grat that she doesn't mnd teh syringe too much. What a reief that ther is always that for back up.

Feel good vines for Petey. Eat up little one. I so know on the not eating thing... Elsa dos that off and on her, one alwyas worries.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Re: 6/20 Trixie AMBG 140 "+3" 83

sending eating well vines to your house!

i love how faithful Trixie is at pulling her BGs down at +3! She's been very consistent about it - well done, little girl!

Whew...did we have a heck of a time with her gelcap tonight! It took about 35 tries (not exaggerating!!!) and 3 gelcaps before it went down. I don't know what was up with that, but she was not happy with me, I wasn't happy with me, and I was sweating bullets! I have NEVER had THAT hard of a time before!! Honestly, if it were just her BP meds and not her Pepcid, I would have bagged it for tonight, but after the incident earlier this week where I screwed up her meds and as a result she spit up foamy fluid, I was not taking the chance of seeing what would happen if we skipped the Pepcid tonight.

Fortunately, fluids went smooth as butter.

Time for an adult beverage and some Trixie snuggles!!!

Yay for the gluttony!!! Gosh it would be so much better if you were able to have the BP meds compounded into palatable liquids, inject the famotidine and even the cerenia, and be done with those gel caps. I know you hate how it stresses her out and then it stresses you because you love her so very much.

It's just great that someone makes empty gel caps so you can cram a bunch of stuff in them instead of having to give all of that individually.

I'm glad she's doing so well. Sending Petey tummy healing vines.

I would LOVE to have everything compounded into one smooth injection...what a dream! But, at $50 a pop for just the cerenia injections.....yikes!!!

Our vetty did say that some of these meds can be co-compounded....like, we could get the amlodipine and the pepcid compounded into one pill. That is awesome...but it's still a pill, and I don't trust that she will consistently go for any sort of treat at this point so I don't think there is a point in having things compounded into treats right now.

Tonight really was an exception...I can usually get the gelcap down within a couple tries, but for whatever reason, my aim must have really been out of whack. Fortunately it finally went down, and so far she is eating quite well again (with me holding the plate of course!)

Hi Amy,
I think you must be very happy that this day is moving along. Good luckl with the meds tomorrow. I hope Petey eats well tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a fine day!!

Trixie, don't give your mamabean such a hard time!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Sorry about the trouble getting the gelcap down. Hopefully Trixie has forgiven you and is giving you lots of snuggles. Yay for a good appy. I'm glad Petey's appy is better.
