could be a little New Dose Wonkiness. You'll have to watch and see if he regularly responds to a dose increase by having a day of higher numbers. Some cats do it consistently.

Let's give this 2.25u six cycles to see what he can do with it.

That's the first yellow amps he's had since he started Lantus! Progress!

Re: charlie 6/22 amps 291 +6 335

Was thinking the same thing. Going to buy calipers so I can be more consistent on the dose. Its hard to eye .25 on relion syring.

Re: charlie 6/22 amps 291 +6 335

the relions have a bigger barrel than the terumos. i promise i don't get a commission, but i loved the Terumos. The plunger slides smoothly, the markings are more accurate than some of the syringes, and they are some of the cheapest syringes. Save a little money by registering first at http://www.mrrebates.com and go through their site to American Diabetes Wholesale. When you've got enough $ rebated, you can request a check. I've had checks of $35 even, all from diabetic supplies for punkin. These http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/product/terumo-thinpro-insulin-syringe_5891.htm syringes are awesome. The barrel is a little narrower, which makes the markings spread out a little farther, making it much easier to fine-tune a dose.

have you seen Marje's post on using the Calipers?

By the way, at the bottom of each page on FDMB is an option to "bookmark topic." If you click there, it will get saved for you. To find it again, you go to the User Control Panel. The first tab on the top is "overview." When that is clicked on the left side of the page you can click on "Manage Bookmarks." From there, just click on any bookmark you've made and you can see the post again.

It's a great way to save any discussions that you want to refer back to again.

Yes I've read marje's link and a few of the others.
Looks like a bounce has started.

Re: charlie 6/22 amps 291 +9.5 403

Wrong way, Charlie!!!

I also love the Terumos and I've used Relions, BDs, Monojects, Walgreens. You have to get used to how slick they are and also they like to get little bubbles but with practice, you can get them out. The pharmacist told me all insulin syringes get bubbles.

Re: charlie 6/22 amps 291 +9.5 403

I used the ReliOns for years and the unit markings where pretty bad. I started using calipers, and then later changed to the Terumos. If you use the calipers on ReliOns and then change to the Terumos which have a slightly narrower barrel, the caliper measurements won't be the same. It took me awhile to get used to the calipers and then another while to get used to the Terumos which do slide super easily.

Good luck with the new dose. Hopefully, you'll see a better cycle tonight or tomorrow morning.

Ewww....yeah those are some pretty icky numbers!

If he doesn't get some better numbers during tomorrow's AM cycle, you might want to ask about going ahead and going up to 2.5 tomorrow night. We don't want him staying in those numbers too long

Come on Charlie!! Work that juice!
