Yikes on that AMBG. Mr P kicked it into gear, but still a bit nailbite_smile this morning....
Trix had about a dime-sized foamy spit up as soon as I got up this morning. She was walking out of the litter box room at the time, and there were some "Trixie Nuggets" in the box, so I wonder if there is a connection again. Last time she started having a flare up of spit up incidents, she did need her anal glands expressed. I'll be keeping an eye on it. And hopefully that incident is why her BG was so high this morning.
Since she had been feeling really good for a few days, I did skip her cerenia yesterday morning. So, of course, I wonder if that was the cause of the spit up, too. So it's back to the cerenia every other day again. After seeing her feel so very good, I do not want her backsliding at all, then having to fight her way back to feeling good. Hopefully giving the cerenia wasn't a knee-jerk reaction, but I just wanted to nip this in the bud. I wish I knew for sure if the spit up would have been an isolated incident or not...where's that crystal ball???
Despite the spit up, she is still in gluttony mode! She ate well enough early on that I was able to skip her first assist feeding syringe. I may do one before I leave for work, depending on how she eats. I want to be sure she has a nice full belly to carry her through the day.
Last night, just for the heck of it, I offered her the un-pureed version of the fuds I use for her assist feeding. I totally expected her to reject it, since I've so often heard that they can develop an aversion to the food that is used in assist feeding. Nope...she was THRILLED with it! I know this could very well be temporary and she could easily tire of it quickly, but it helps...this way, Fancy Feast can take a back burner for a while, and then hopefully when she tires of the Purina One Chicken, she'll be more in the mood for Fancy Feast again. Hopefully the phosphate binder is working adequately, 'cause the girl's gotta eat. She is SO good at keeping me on my toes!
I was off yesterday and it was wonderful to be with the kitties again, but today it's back to work...big sigh. But then I'm off again tomorrow
!
Have a great day, LL!
