WCR: Most Ps in place. Appy is ok today. However, she's in a mood and so is her mama. :-x My landlady and the guys that are fixing/re-tiling my shower showed up this morning to get started on the job. A little back story: about a year and a half ago, I told my landlady that there was a HORRIBLE smell in my bathroom (other than me!). She called out the plumbers and they determined that the seal around the shower drain had broken down and was now allowing water to get under the shower pan and sit there and mildew and mold, etc. They suggested that the shower be gutted (prefabbed fiberglass sheets) and tiled. However, she opted for the band aid approach of more caulk around the drain. Needless to say, that didn't last long and they were called out again in December. That band aid didn't last 24 hours. So finally, they were supposed to come out and tile the shower floor while I was visiting my family last month...she was still hoping to save the walls and save money...her worker couldn't do it because his assistant was sick. Since then, he has been avoiding her calls or too busy to get to it. TODAY WAS THE DAY! For the second time, I cleaned out my bathroom (shower curtains, shampoos, soaps, razor, towels, laundry basket, etc.) They came in, decided that the floor & walls needed to come out (walls are bowing away from the dry wall...another of my many complaints) and asked if there was any of the extra tile from the back wall. They took a sample to the original store to match it...it's not in stock. Won't be in stock until Friday...maybe Monday. So, I've now put everything back in my bathroom, cussed a lot, vacuumed and cussed a little more. I'm so over this s**t! Poor Shasta was already pissed that there were strange people in her house (and they kept leaving the door wide open, letting all of my ac out and all of the mosquitoes in...another reason I insist upon being here while they are working...don't want Shasta to get out.) Now she's pissed because I'm pissed AND I vacuumed. And to top it all off, I bought some ground beef 2 days ago with today as its sell by date...and it was rotten by this morning. I took it back this morning. :-x It's only 11am and I'm already in a mood. Now I need to run a few errands before our afternoon storms.

AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! A blue bird just landed on my window and Shasta was totally not paying attention. I finally got her to look up and he was about 3 feet from her face!!!!!!!! Shasta's response: chatter, chatter, chatter! DAMNIT...I couldn't find my phone fast enough!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt like Larry, Moe & Curly all wrapped up in one just now. ugh. I need to go back to sleep. :YMSIGH: I'll be back later.

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

wow, some days are just not worth facing!

i have a mantra (developed from raising 3.5 kids and working with teenagers & their drama for 14 years) - "I am a rock in the middle of the raging stream. I will not be moved." it's good for reminding me when things are either not in my control or the drama really belongs to someone else, not me.

i wanted to say how much i enjoyed your doormat! the one signed by the cat about bringing tuna - too cute.

Hope your day turns around and you get to breathe after you get up again! :YMHUG:

Awww, thanks ladies for all the hugs. I ran my errands to a few of my thrift stores looking for a tension rod and t-shirts for the pasture. Didn't find a tension rod, but did find a few t-shirts to replace my old, nasty ones. Almost got hit by a guy in a van that wasn't paying attention. I decided that I needed a sub and some wine...stopped by Firehouse and Publix! :-D After my sub was safely in my tummy, I decided it was time to start decorating my outside trash cans.  One of my new county trash cans got stolen from my house back in May. So I bought a big 50 gal., lidded can and decided to "brand" it with my address...large and in charge. I ended up making a template and branded all of my cans. However, my new one got special hibiscus flowers drawn on it!!!! I just need to add the clear acrylic coat tomorrow and they should be good to go! OH, and I also got my shipment from Amazon...new paper shredder and Hamlet's new fly mask!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D He looks so cute in them.

As for Shasta, she seems ok tonight. Appy is ok, mood is ok...nothing special nor amazing. She felt a little warm early this evening so I took her temp (ear) and it was 100.5 - guess I'm just over-reacting, as usual! I think we are both suffering from no-see-ums in the house. I keep watching her "jump" as if there's something biting her. The house was sprayed for fleas at the end of June, but the no-see-ums and mosquitoes are out of control this season. :-x I wonder if Advantage or Frontline help protect against them?!

Devon, all day I just thought to myself...I should have gone back to bed. Things have been so much better this summer when I go back to bed! I'm going back to bed tomorrow morning and it'll be a better day. :-D

Julie, thanks for sharing your mantra. In my office, I have a little note to remind me: "You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time." I think this applies to almost all situations in life and in today's situation, my elephant got up and walked away.  Glad you liked my door mat. I giggle at all sorts of things in my house...sign in my garage: "Dogs have masters; Cats have staff." ;-)

Carla, thanks you. We have just enjoyed some nice snuggles and chitter chatter, a good poke and now she's eating before bedtime.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday.
