I'm fairly convinced the food has brought Cobb's BGs up a little bit. But, with everything else I've been dealing with this week, I'm not all that upset about it. I can only handle so many things at once!! Although this would have been a great week for some pajama parties since we were all up all night anyway! I'm tired...

Anyway, IT'S FRIDAY!!! And Matty is doing better this morning. We had a bit of a scare yesterday because he only drank about 6 ounces of liquid all day long. I was, of course, at work - so freaking out just because of what I was hearing. He wasn't eating any either. Probably all because his throat hurts, but everyone kept telling us that after 2 days on the antibiotic he should be feeling better and more himself, and he wasn't. So we had to watch him closely and make sure he had a wet diaper this morning, which thankfully he did. Matty doesn't preen just yet (hopefully we can skip that since he's a boy). And he doesn't really "purr" but I'll equate that to laughing and smiling. So, dropping the preening P, it looks like Matty's 4 P's are back in place this morning.

Cobb's P's remaining in place. He's not thrilled about this food that I'm serving him, but he'll be back on the good stuff tomorrow. Cats...so picky!

Have a fabulous Friday all. Thank you all for the healing vines over here - I think we are on our way to getting better.

if matty's not improving on the antibiotic after 48 hrs, it's either viral, the bacteria are resistant, or it's the wrong antibiotic.

Cobb's looking decent. how are you doing on the shoot and leave part of it?

Yes, they said if he wasn't better by this morning to bring him back to the doctor and they would give him an antibiotic shot. Seriously, when dealing with a baby, part of me thinks we should start with that next time. Easier than getting them to take 10 days of oral meds that they don't want. And Matty hates taking it from me. He'll take it from Matt, but he isn't there in the morning. But I'm told he is eating and drinking at daycare, so that's encouraging. They said he was playing too, which is more than I can say for last night.

We knew the original upper respiratory infection was viral. At least that's what the first doctor said. But the strep has to be bacterial, I'd think. I'd hope Matty responds to the antibiotic though...it's his first, well, second antibiotic. He had some preventative after he had a spinal tap when he was 5 days old. I think I've shared that stressful story before though.

As for leaving the food out, I think Cobb is more comfortable with the feeder. He's been eating all the food. I have no idea if it is exactly when he's supposed to eat it, but the bowl is clean. I wish I had put a sink in our laundry room, where is food is, so I don't have to walk downstairs to do that. #catownerproblems Am I right?

do you have a bathroom sink nearby that you could use?
I do. The laundry room is right outside the master bedroom. I just kick myself because we had the option of putting a work sink in there and we didn't because we didn't think we'd ever use it. I've already talk to Matt and told him if/when we move, if we build again, we'll definitely put a sink in the laundry room -- just in case.

another option might be to get a second tray. at one point a couple of years ago, i think anne/liz/zener sent a food tray to someone. you could always look online to see if they are sold separately.

we have a gigantic deep laundry room sink. our house was built in 1965 so it's been well-used and doesn't look great, but the good thing is we have a place to wash out paint brushes and other disgusting things. definitely a plus to have it.
